The Quantity Surveyor role 

 Ideally, you'll;

  • be a recognised Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit and cash
  • Working together to input into Work Scope Documents/ Procurement of Enabling Work Packages with the Client Procurement Team.
  • have prior experience with CM projects
  • have experience managing a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages through to final account.
  • be keen to minimise risk, cost and maximise value by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
  • Broad construction industry experience covering many and various sectors and markets in commercial positions with industry main contracting organisations

Your profile

  • Large scale major project experience / Construction Management experience 
  • Strategy – Can disseminate a breadth of internal and external data and apply sound judgement regarding the strategic direction of the business
  • You will be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or a related subject

The Onboarding Manager role

A member of the project team reporting to the Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager, you will be responsible for the organisation, coordination and delivery of all site inductions for subcontractors, staff and visitors. An important aspect of the inductions will be to evidence compliance with SRMs health & safety regulations and company procedures. Your role will involve, but not be limited to effective communication on the following:

  • Comprehensive and interactive site inductions.
  • Compliance with statutory and company procedures, including health & safety and environmental standards.
  • Engagement with all members of the project team to ensure organisational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Managing and directing the induction process, including planning and scheduling inductions.
  • Understanding the status of the Project and ensuring the delivery of the induction represents is up to date.

Your profile:

  • Experience in managing site inductions and ensuring compliance is of benefit, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confident in the delivery of presentations to a group of people and being able to ‘hold' an audience.
  • Work experience within the construction industry is of benefit, but not essential.

The Role

This is a great opportunity to join the dynamic Engineering Team at our Mars Petcare factory. Your role will focus on hands-on maintenance for specialised pet food processing & packaging equipment, including both mechanical and electrical challenges. The aim of this shift-based role is to problem solve and repair technical faults on the factory equipment. These faults cause lost efficiency and factory downtime, making the Shift Maintenance Engineer a critical & highly responsible role for our site to achieve production targets in a safe and food safe manner.

You will need to collaborate with other shift maintenance engineers, shift operations, and days engineers to maintain and improve future factory performance and asset reliability. This means you will also become involved in longer term improvements and projects to improve reliability on a particular asset, maintenance schedule, or maintenance strategy.

Weekend -2x Shifts

Saturday & Sunday alternating weekly between (nights) 10pm-10am & (days) 10am-10pm

What We're Looking For
  • Solid foundation in Engineering & Technical skills , built through a recognized apprenticeship.

The Role

This is a great opportunity to join the dynamic Engineering Team at our Mars Petcare factory. Your role will focus on hands-on maintenance for specialised pet food processing & packaging equipment, including both mechanical and electrical challenges. The aim of this shift-based role is to problem solve and repair technical faults on the factory equipment. These faults cause lost efficiency and factory downtime, making the Shift Maintenance Engineer a critical & highly responsible role for our site to achieve production targets in a safe and food safe manner.

You will need to collaborate with other shift maintenance engineers, shift operations, and days engineers to maintain and improve future factory performance and asset reliability. This means you will also become involved in longer term improvements and projects to improve reliability on a particular asset, maintenance schedule, or maintenance strategy.

Shift Pattern : 32 Hours per week (with the choice of additional hours)

Weekend -2x Shifts

Saturday & Sunday alternating weekly between (nights) 10pm-10am & (days) 10am-10pm

Weekday-1x shift

Mon-Fri 8am-4pm/6am-2pm

The Role

  • Week 1: 10pm - 6am (Nights) | Sun-Thu
  • Week 2: 2pm - 10pm (Afternoons)
  • Week 3: 6am - 2pm (Mornings)
