Site Agent - Waste Water
6 Month FTC
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the resources associated with delivering a wide range of Infrastructure Projects and Capital Works, on the existing waste water network across with North West, for our client United Utilities.
You will plan, manage and supervise operational teams and supply chain partners, as they carry out schemes and provide operational leadership – ensuring that the work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to our client’s expectations. In addition to Health and Safety, customer service is critical to the client.
Satisfaction of customers is measured through a new regulatory measure called C-MeX. You will work closely with the client to influence the C-MeX measure and show leadership skills to genuinely care about the ratings customers give of Network Plus’s Non-Core services. You will be expected to communicate with customers who are impacted by our work, as and when required.
You will work with the design, delivery and commercial teams, to ensure our Non-Core programme of work is delivered safely, to the right quality, on programme and to the clients budget.
Key Responsibilities
- We are looking for someone to have operational supervisory responsibility for waste water projects on the Non-Core Programme and the daily activities that take place on site.
- We are looking for someone to be site based and regularly visit teams at local site level – reviewing progress and performance and ensuring all standards are adhered to at all times.
- We are looking for someone to organise all resources for our schemes, including plant, labour, materials and sub-contractors, in the most cost-effective way.
- We are looking for someone to manage compliance to our Health and Safety procedures on site e.g. weekly checks, inspections, team briefings, audits and work with the teams as required to develop them and support them in reaching their full potential.
- We are looking for someone to do weekly reporting of the sites to our management team and the client on weekly meetings and calls to update the team on progress, planning and issues.
- We are looking for someone to be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health and safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents if and when they occur
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of working in the Utilities sector and ideally on waste water and Capital works
- Competence, knowledge and experience in deep excavations, civils, drainage, structures and waste water based schemes.
- Competence, knowledge and experience in Street Works and Confined Spaces
- Health & Safety qualification an advantage
- Awareness of costs and programme awareness
- Good team management and communication skills
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Project is preferable
- Full UK Driving Licence

Where will I be working?
Within Salford we have 18 homes providing care and support for adults with Learning Disabilities, varying abilities, and health issues, it is a 24-hour service therefore flexibility is essential. Shift patterns include, mornings, evenings, sleep shifts/waking nights and weekends/bank holidays.
What are the people we support looking for in support workers?

What I look for in a support worker is someone who is friendly and chatty as I love to chat, I am quite independent, but I like my staff to support me with things such as cooking & baking as I really enjoy doing things like this. I do a lot of the chores around the house such as Ironing the clothes and keeping my kitchen sparkling, although I can do a lot for myself, I still require staff to remind me of the risks. I enjoy going out in the community and shopping! so you need to be prepared to do a lot of walking.
One of my favourite things is watching the soaps of a night-time and like to talk with others about the current storylines. I will watch tv in the evening whilst knitting and I often will make things for other people’s birthdays and important events.
David:
I live in a supported house with 2 other people, we have lived together for many years and are also good friends. I like to be independent and go out often to the pub and local shops and chippy, I enjoy doing this alone and I want staff that can recognise and encourage me to maintain my independence.
Geoff:
I am looking for people to support me in my own home and to support me with accessing my local community.
I am a gentleman who is deaf. I use Makaton, Signalong and some British Sign L anguage. I have been known to make my own signs for things over the years too.
Knowing my communication preferences is very important to me and this is a skill staff will learn when working alongside me as well as additional communication training. It is important that you are willing to learn these new skills.
We use a digital social care record system, to support daily recording, which will make your day-to-day tasks easier and allows you to spend more time with the People We Support
Role Responsibility
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- Promoting the independence of people we support
- Supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- Arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- Developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- Helping residents stay safe and healthy
- Assisting with personal care needs
- Manual handling
- Supporting people with medication
- Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standard at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements

It is essential that you have previous experience in supported living settings supporting individuals with learning disabilities, and knowledge of PBS and complex needs. It is also essential that you are:

- Able to demonstrate good communication skills
- Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed

As a Service Delivery Supervisor, you will manage the LDP Operational Teams in the successful delivery of the Cadent Mains Replacement Programme in the North West. The Service Delivery Supervisor will provide supervision to those teams under their jurisdiction, from work stack handover through to project completion in an effective and efficient manner. Success will be measured against our 3 imperatives; HSEQ performance, programme adherence and outstanding customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the delivery teams during the works, including site set up, enabling of the works, Gas operations, backfill and reinstatement and site completion
- Attend all sites in order to disseminate the Construction Phase Plan information, including all RAMS, with regards setting up of the site and to brief the Team leader on their responsibilities to ensure that the works carried out on the Network comply with the relevant statutory requirements (CDM, IGEM) and Cadent standards and Procedures
- Supervise, the opening and closing of street works permits in accordance with NRSWA including the management of agreed Traffic Management and Permit Conditions and the timely capture of reinstatement completion information
- Ensure that all the client and operational requirements are met in a professional and efficient manner
- Work collaboratively with the Customer Liaison Officer to engage with customers and identify any specific needs (PSR, language line etc) to minimise disruption
- Provide daily and weekly reports as required and to ensure that all service levels and objectives are achieved
- Provide a positive and innovative input into the team, through provision of solutions to problems and embracing change
- Ensure that safety issues are reported in line with Company procedures
Experience and Qualifications

- NRSWA 1991 (Supervisor)
- SCO 1,2 & 5 (preferred)
- IOSH or SMSTS (preferred)
- NCO Gas Level 2 / Gas manager’s appreciation

As the HSEQ Administrator, you will assist the Group HSEQ Manager and the broader HSEQ Team in driving exceptional performance across the business. Utilising tools such as Power BI, Excel and our internal system you will ensure the accurate collection and collation of data, enabling the team to report on company performance daily, weekly, and monthly. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with our internal reporting procedures and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce weekly reports – outstanding incidents, providing data and information to the wider team, in line with the business deadlines
- Log incidents through Modular Plus (Our own internal system).
- Report to the relevant utility providers where a damage/non fault damage has been reported through the incident line and follow up to completion, whilst continuing to liaise with those asset owners to complete / close the report, which will support any future claims should they arise.
- Deal with all communication in relation to damages, incidents and compliance.
- Complete weekly cleanse on Modular Plus following weekly incident review calls to ensure system is maintained and up to date.
- Participate taking actions on Friday Panel & Executive Reviews, producing an action tracker and supplying the Group HSEQ Manager.
- Daily liaison with the HSEQ team via phone calls, emails, teams, WhatsApp (incident notifications, progression and close out).
- Ensure work-related injuries and accidents are well-documented and properly maintained
- Working with Operations to produce a ‘customer leaflet’ for managing Virgin Media cable damages.
- Support safety meetings which will focus on damages, incidents and compliance, provide constructive and meaningful feedback.
- Monitor and review hazards in the workplace and liaising with the HSEQ Advisors/Leads/Managers to trigger investigations.
- Support Governance Team with generic reports relating to damages, investigation and compliance checks.
