About the RoleAs a friendly and approachable point of contact for our student residents, you will provide excellent customer service to our residents to ensure the smooth and effective running of the halls accommodation.
The role is varied and will involve general administration duties along with organisation of events. You will be managed by a hall manager and there will be a set shift pattern; you will work 25 hours over a 3 week period on rolling rota. To support our mission, we’re looking for an administrator to keep the HELA Research Co-op running smoothly day-to-day. The role involves managing HELA’s social media channels, website updates, and e-newsletter scheduling, while tracking engagement metrics. You will act as the first point of contact for website enquiries, coordinating responses with academic and technical colleagues, and maintaining a simple contact log for partners and committees.

About the RoleAs an Operations Controller, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and facilities across the University of Derby. Based within our 24/7 Control Room at the Kedleston Road campus, you’ll coordinate all aspects of security operations, from incident response and monitoring CCTV systems to directing on-site teams and liaising with external agencies when required.
You’ll act as the central point of contact for all planned and reactive security activity, ensuring a professional, efficient and customer-focused service at all times. This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same – requiring quick thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The full-time working hours for this role are 42 hours per week, working a 4 on 4 off pattern. The shifts are 12 hours (07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00), with a 24/7 rota in place. The salary advertised includes a 20% shift allowance.

About YouYou’ll bring proven experience from a control room or security operations environment, with strong situational awareness and the confidence to take the lead during incidents. You’ll have excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to make quick, effective decisions when it matters most.
You’ll be comfortable using CCTV, radio, and access control systems, as well as maintaining accurate records and reports. A customer-focused mindset and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism are essential.

About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Nuclear Engineering. There is a particular focus on neutronics for teaching in this job role.
You will contribute to innovative teaching and cutting-edge research in nuclear engineering. The role involves developing and delivering flexible, high-quality teaching materials that enhance student experience and employability, while actively engaging in research that informs practice and supports the University’s REF strategy.
Along with your research work this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our nuclear engineering programmes, particularly as part of higher degree apprenticeships. You will need to be aware of the expectations for apprenticeship delivery which link work-based learning with academic learning. About the RolePlease note on appointment the job title for this position will be Lecturer in Therapeutic Arts.
We are looking for part time Lecturer in Therapeutic Arts to join our team and play a key role in training the next generation of Arts Therapists. With a focus on graduate employability, you will contribute to all aspects of teaching and supporting students, preparing them to become practicing therapists in their chosen modality.
You will guide students through a journey rooted in taught theory, clinical experiences, group exploration, and self-understanding, helping them develop the professional and personal skills required to succeed in this rewarding field. This requires both a deep commitment to the student experience and a real understanding of the subtle differences between being a clinician and an educator.
As part of an established and supportive team, you’ll also take on specific responsibilities within programme development, such as placement co-ordination, while contributing to the growth of Arts Therapies as professions. You’ll engage in teaching, research, and clinical practice, ensuring our students benefit from an education that is research-led, practice-informed, and forward-looking.

This role is a 0.8 FTE, 2 year fixed term contract
