Skills & Experience:

  • REACT Licence to work safely at the roadside

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk.
  • Support Food Safety and HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective.
  • Support the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, maintaining GFSI certification utilizing Kerry Manufacturing Standards.
  • Support food safety and quality systems including QC & QA.
  • Develop, review and align procedures with corporate KFMS, through Intelex, with a drive towards global best practice.
  • Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent non-conformances.
  • Quality systems should include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in ERP systems, material control, sanitation, and Food Safety Plans, as required by FSMA, Intelex and KFMS.
  • Enforce Kerry manufacturing standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory audit compliance.
  • Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Support the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (i.e. organic, Kosher, etc.) and customer audits.
  • Support the plant Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement by applying RCAAP principles.
  • Develop Kerry Production Stream through training activities to drive improvements to align with Kerry global.
  • Be proactive and responsive in supporting customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and ensuring the root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the Quality department, through training, development, communication, and accountability. This may involve recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction and motivation. Support the department within budgets and utilize resources effectively to meet needs of the business on a timely basis.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team.
  • Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison to support site with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.

What you can bring to the role

  • Significant experience within a similar role within food manufacturing.
  • Ideally a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant GFSI standards such as SQF.
  • Experience managing quality and food safety systems.
  • Experience in a plant environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends.
  • Previous leadership experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent stakeholder skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally across the business.

What you'll be doing

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager with daily responsibility to both Quality & Production Managers, the purpose of the role is

  • Provide expertise on suitable chemicals and equipment to deliver appropriate cleaning methods liaising with appropriate 3rd party contracts (e.g. Diversey)

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our Kerry Team in Gainsborough, Co. Lincolnshire.

It is a full-time, permanent position on continental shift pattern of 2 days (6am-6pm), 2 nights (6pm-6am) and 4 days off.  

You will be responsible for working as part of a team on rotational shifts on varying production lines, to ensure your designated area delivers against its KPI’s.   

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience as a Productive Operative, Line Operative, Factory Operative, or similar roles, especially in a food manufacturing environment. Training and complementary certifications will be provided as needed.  

Where will you work?  

The Gainsborough site consists of 5 integrated plants, where we produce variety of products, like flours, batters, and ingredients of meat-free food. Its history dates to 1963, when the first Flour Milling Plant was established. It became part of a Kerry Family in 1997 and went through significant investments and improvements. The Gainsborough site is based close to Gainsborough Lea Road train station (13 minutes by walk) and has onsite parking.  

What will you do?

Your responsibilities as the Plant Operative will include  

  • Maintain a production area.
  • Deliver the production plan.
  • Adhere to Food Manufacturing Safety and Quality Standards.
  • Input production data into trackers using Microsoft Office software on daily basis.
  • Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
  • Be responsible for equipment efficiencies, waste, and materials. 

What do you need to be successful?

  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally within FMCG (required).
  • Good understanding and interpretation of data (required).
  • General education in maths and good communication skills. (required).
  • Good IT skills covering Excel, Word, Outlook (required); SAP (desirable).
  • Self-confident and decisive (required).
  • Ability to work under pressure within a high-performance, fast-moving environment (required).
  • Food production experience and food safety certificate (desirable).

Political Affairs Internship: The role focuses on making poverty a focus of U.S., Canadian and U.K. foreign policy. This is a part-time 12-hours per week, 12 week, unpaid remote internship. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks. Responsibilities will include: Leading public and political outreach in your state and district. Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency. Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events. Assisting with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets. Mobilizing individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation. Speaking to groups, classes and organizations. Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups. Experience: No prior experience is necessary, we’re looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPAs/background. Details: This is an unpaid internship, although college credit is available. Start Date: New programs begin every month, you choose the month you wish to start.
