Reliability Engineer

A leading industrial service provider is currently looking for a Reliability Engineer to work at a client site in the Scarborough, North Yorkshire area. Working within one of their reputable client sites in the FMCG industry, you will be required to drive reliability improvement programmes across the site. You will use accurate data analysis to work closely with the plant teams to reduce safety or maintenance related issues as well as drive maintenance improvements. The Reliability Engineer will be required to conduct root cause analysis, deliver recommendations and solutions for the client to implement as well as manage a small team of technicians.

Skills required for a Reliability Engineer:

  • My client is looking ideally for a HNC qualified (or Equivalent) Engineer in an appropriate mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience working within a FMCG industry working on reliability-based projects.
  • The ability to conduct data analysis to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of CMMS review and improvement is essential.
  • Health & Safety focussed, ideally holding IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Results driven and able to self-manage.  
  • Experience of managing a small team of technicians.
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Our client, a leading manufacturing client based north of York, are looking to recruit an PCB Test and Repair Engineer to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth.

The successful candidates will be required to test diagnose and repair Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.  

Candidates will ideally be electrically trained with demonstrable experience in test and repaid of PCBs. Experience working to IPC 610 standards is highly advantageous.

Hours 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm Friday

Any OT worked over 37 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings

Key Responsibilities:

 PCB Testing:

  • Conduct tests on PCBs using automated test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
  • li>Analyse test results and compare against design specifications to identify any faults or performance issues.
  • Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and scripts to ensure all PCB designs meet the required standards.

PCB Repair:

  • Identify and troubleshoot faults in PCBs, including surface-mount devices (SMDs), through-hole components, and complex multi-layer boards.
  • Perform hands-on repairs such as component replacement, soldering, and rework on PCBs.
  • Use advanced tools like hot-air rework stations, microscopes, soldering irons, and reflow ovens to perform repairs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ideally candidates will be qualified in an electrical/ Electronic discipline
  • Demonstrable experience in test and repair of PCB Components
  • A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
  • Experience working to IPC 610 Standards

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
