An exciting opportunity to join our George Clothing & GM Space Team, which is now recruiting a Space Analyst based at George House

Team Purpose

The teams’ purpose is to lead all Non-Food space planning/reporting and ensure efficient processes to drive strong execution across all stores/formats and Trading Teams. From leading the space trading strategy recommendations backed with clear commercial reasonings to delivering tools/reporting to support teams in delivering space and grading changes right first time and to a best-in-class standard

Job Purpose

  • To help deliver and implement effective management of Trading Department space across all store formats

  • Support delivery of the space strategy through reviewing store by store performance whilst providing recommendations

  • To support the business with effective and relevant commercial space information/reporting and maintain the accuracy and integrity of our retail space information system

  • Identify commercial opportunities at store and department level through space analysis

Key Accountabilities

  • Analysis - A key part of this role will be the ability to analyse performance data to provide actionable insight for the business

  • Data integrity - Accountability for the accuracy of space data in the George Space Tool and the accurate & timely communication of space information to the trading and retail teams

  • Store Change Programme - Working with the Asda Macro Space team on the scoping of store change & working with the Store Planning Team on the most profitable department Space splits for each scheme

  • Strategic Trials – Identify opportunities within trading and provide insight and recommendations, review performance and follow up with results and actions

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams – Build & nurture relationships across the business to understand short and mid-term goals and priorities ensuring space data is accessible /relevant to these teams

Key Skills

  • Strong computer skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word

  • Ideally experience of Power BI /SQL

  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills

  • A track record in engaging, and building relationships at all levels to deliver change

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines

  • Flexibility to help drive performance in a fast-moving environment

  • Team Player
