Job Description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job title:    SEN Teacher

Location:  Orchards Manor School, Near Kings Lynn, Downham Market, PE34 3HT

Salary:      Up to £42,000 per annum dependent on experience (not pro rata)

Hours:       40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:   Permanent, Term Time only

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join our growing team at Orchards Manor School, a brand-new New Options Autism School located near Downham Market.

Our school is dedicated to supporting children and young people with autism and complex needs, providing an environment where they can thrive both academically and personally. If you’re motivated to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable learners, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with each student’s individual learning profile, supported by a team of Learning Support Assistants, Tutors, and Therapists.

This is a hands-on teaching role with a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, creativity, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. You will be supported by the Headteacher and work closely with education and care colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to individuals and small groups, in line with our curriculum and school policies
  • Monitor and report on student progress through assessments and personalised learning plans
  • Develop and review IEPs, IBPs, and other individualised support documents with input from the wider team
  • Coordinate teaching, assessment, and reporting across key stages
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports learning, independence, and engagement
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and the senior leadership team
  • Ensure student safety at all times, including during off-site activities
  • Provide clear guidance and direction to Learning Support Assistants and other staff members

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience teaching students with autism and/or special educational needs
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to differentiate lessons and engage students with varying levels of ability and need
  • Passionate about inclusive education and student-centred learning

If you’re an experienced SEN Teacher with a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with autism, we would love to hear from you!
