We're looking for a Project Director to join our Major Projects team based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset, to lead one of the UK's most exciting and complex infrastructure programmes. You'll have full accountability for driving delivery, ensuring safety and quality, and leading a diverse team of contractors, partners, and stakeholders. Responsibilities
As a Project Director , you will be responsible for directing the site management team through all phases of a project to meet the contract requirements. The Project Director is also responsible for client liaison and generating new business according to the Company Business Plan.
Your day to day responsibilities will include;
- Manage project documentation and reporting, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, addressing any concerns.
- Oversee design and construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the procurement process for all equipment, materials, and services, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with regulations.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the project, ensuring it meets all objectives within budget, schedule, and quality constraints.
- Provide assistance to the site Project Managers on constructability issues during the planning phase of a project and manage the resource allocation to any early construction activities that may take place during this phase of a project.
- Support the Commercial Manager and Area Commercial Manager in administering subcontracts.

- You're experienced in working in environments with structural steelwork, cladding and reinforced concrete
- You have strong knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within a similar Tier 1 business.
- You're able to take the lead with client interfaces and manage project delivery on technical and business aspects of team outputs establish project requirements and drive the team to deliver the required outputs in terms of quality, cost and programme.
- Able to demonstrate experience of leading large, complex infrastructure

What will you be responsible for?

The Pre-Construction Buildability – Project Engineer role - Methods Manager Role
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Project Engineer will focuses on developing practical, efficient, and safe construction methods. As a growing discipline in the UK, it offers strong progression opportunities.
You'll be responsible for providing support to the ‘methods' team. In particular:
- Review and input to the constructability of the permanent design.
- Draw up the structural works execution strategy.
- Draw up a preparation schedule for Methods and Plant.
- Participate in technical/price studies for different construction solutions for the structure.
- Set the execution methods (methods sequencing, operating procedures, phasing, cycles) in line with the Programme and the Quality-Safety-Environment rules.
- Carry out studies regarding site installations and the lifting equipment working closely with the lifting team.
- Determine all plant resources needed for steelwork erection, cladding installation, M&E Logistical movements and safety.
- Provide monitoring and inspection of manufacturers of special plant/equipment: consultation, ordering, checking the calculation notes and fabrication drawings, acceptance in factory, dummy assembly, packaging.
- Manage the Methods technicians/engineers and draughtsperson.
- Monitor studies of technical risks (Methods) of the project.
Your profile
- Engineering Degree qualified and preferably have a construction engineering industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, IStructE, MCIOB, etc)
- Experience of working on large construction projects £100mil +
- Knowledge of the full Microsoft office suite
- Autocad skills to review or sketch designs preferred – but ability to pick up software with training quickly.
- Coordination and negotiation skills
- Technical knowledge and commercially minded
- Methodical, have authority, tenacious and have a sense of responsibility.

The Senior Commercial Manager role
- You will manage a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages through to final account.
- You'll be keen to minimise risk, cost and maximise value by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
Your profile
- You will have a degree in BSc Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or equivalent experience/memberships
- You will have construction industry experience with a main contractor running large projects valued at over £100m
- You will have NEC contract experience and experience overseeing large teams
- Large scale industrial experience preferable
