Role responsibilities

This role is all about keeping our financial control environment robust and effective. Leading on control assessments and our annual controls review you will also help shape how we embed controls into new processes and champion best practice across the business.

  • Develop an internal control annual effectiveness testing and attestation process over financial and non-financial reporting which will include any control remediation actions for process owners to complete ahead of the financial yearend in readiness for the executive leadership team (ELT) to complete the annual self-assessment/internal control questionnaire.
  • Challenge existing process documentation and controls by evaluating deficiencies and facilitating rectification with process owners to ensure processes and controls are upgraded to meet UK SOX requirements.
  • Identify and record ineffective controls or controls requiring improvement by performing independent testing of the design and operating effectiveness with the process owners and work collaboratively with the business to agree remediation plans and improvements required and appropriate timeframes to implement and retest to ensure compliance to the regulation.
  • Track completion of control deficiency resolution plans, by using governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools to ensuring that deficiencies are resolved in a timely manner and manage progress to completion.


Who we're looking for
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) or Internal Auditor.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of internal control frameworks such as SOX and COSO. In particular you should have knowledge of design and operating effectiveness, control quality, testing, high-quality evidencing standards and be able to apply the control principles.
  • Experience implementing SOX controls and a SOX compliance programme or equivalent within a large organisation where you are able to collaborate and influence to bring together disparate functions under one methodology.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Role responsibilities

The Early Talent Advisor will contribute to the development and delivery of Early Talent programmes and recruitment activities across Transport for Wales (TfW).   • Previous experience working in a customer service/contact centre environment.

Role responsibilities

Who we're looking for
  • A relevant professional qualification such as relevant degree, MCIPS or MRICS or proven relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge and experience working under Public and Utilities Contract Regulations and Non-regulated Procurement.
  • Experience in delivering procurement events for a range of requirements and having procurement process responsibility in a fast-moving environment with challenging stakeholder expectations.
  • Able to deliver category procurement and packaging processes to drive sound sustainable procurement outcomes.

This role of Recycling Project Delivery Lead is to implement and oversee delivery of the recycling project which involves the roll out of recycling hubs to 195 stations, removal of bins at 82 stations, undertaking waste audits, undertaking work with on board teams to support recycling on trains. This role will also support post project roll out snagging issues up to July 2026 and will support with the mobilisation of the waste management contract ensuring our waste services are suitable on a location-by-location basis.

  • Implement the recycling project and workstream tasks by utilising project management experience and ensuring the project is successfully implemented and delivered in line with the project objectives.
  • Implement project and workstream task activity by liaising with the Environmental Compliance Manger for direction to ensure you can effectively meet project and task delivery milestones to time and quality.
  • Implement projects and coordinate implementation to ensure projects and workstream tasks are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Track the progress of projects and workstream tasks by carrying out monitoring and control activities to ensure successful project delivery and support project reporting.


Who we're looking for
  • Project management qualification or have equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of project management and timely project delivery.
  • Experience of working within the station environment and an understanding of the security requirements
  • Experience of effectively engaging and managing multiple and varying stakeholders.

• Deliver end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, including attraction, shortlisting and interviewing of candidates by providing interview panels with the appropriate advice and conducting interviews to ensure TfW have a fair and effective recruitment process.

• Proactively deliver recruitment of open vacancies, including senior and specialist roles, by sourcing candidates using various platforms and creative solutions to ensure TfW can recruit specialist roles and undertake positive action.

• Provide recruitment governance by working closely with, challenging, and advising Hiring Managers to create Job Descriptions (JD) and deliver and additional documentation which provides an effective audit trial.

• Facilitate and support TfW's job evaluation process by providing advice and guidance to Hiring Managers when JD writing and hosting various job evaluation session to ensure accurate job levelling and an effective pay and performance model.

Role responsibilities

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and platform that enable Transport for Wales' (TfW) to make data-driven decisions.
  • Drive the provision of a resilient and future-ready data platform that underpins organisational growth, supports cross-functional analytics, and enables data-driven decision-making by developing and deploying scalable data pipelines leveraging a Microsoft Azure-first approach, utilising tools such as Fabric, Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics to ensure workflows are modular, testable, and well-governed.
  • Implement robust data management practices focused on data domains, quality, and lineage by integrating data from multiple internal and external sources into a cohesive system to ensure that data is comprehensive, accurate, and traceable, supporting reliable business analysis and reporting.
  • Design, implement, and optimise physical data models that align with pipeline architecture, by using the approach that ensures efficient query performance, scalable storage, and robust integration and delivers adaptable and resource-efficient data processing, meeting the organisation's evolving analytical and operational demands.
  • Transform raw data into meaningful insights by developing and maintaining tailored ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes enabling customised processes, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions based on high-quality, processed information.


Who we're looking for
  • Degree or MSc in Computer/Data Science or Data Engineering or equivalent experience in data engineering, data management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Apache Spark, following modern ETL/ELT principles.
  • Experience of using programming languages such as Python, Scala and SQL and of data transformation, testing, and automation

  • Demonstrable knowledge of data modelling (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional models) and data warehousing within platforms such as Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Lake (Gen2), Synapse, Event Hubs, and Cosmos DB, within scalable cloud-based architectures

Join Our Social Media Officer (Welsh Essential) We're building a talent pool of talented social media professional with Welsh language skills for upcoming Social Media Officer roles.

As a Social Media Officer you will support the day-to-day delivery of TFW social media channels. This is role where you will provide an engaging, informative and friendly interactive experience for our customers via online social media - replying to messages, posting key service updates and supporting the delivery of the social media strategy.

The role requires shift work, including weekends - currently, the team work between the hours of 7am and 8pm.

• Responding to customer feedback, queries and complaints via social media, ensuring all queries are answered appropriately and in the right timescale.
• Ensure the reasons for all customer contacts are fully investigated using a variety of resources and industry systems, including liaising with other internal departments and industry stakeholders.
• Support the delivery of engaging social content and campaigns. Help to administer and coordinate posts.
• Assist in analysing and reporting on key metrics generated by social content, creating daily summaries and weekly reports.
• Act as a champion for social media best practice and provide updates to Customer Relations Management on emerging trends.
