This Package Manager role will be looking after work packages within the Building and fitout team as part of our £800m project.

The Fitout Package Manager role

As a Package Manager within the fitout team, you will oversee work packages as part of our £800m project. Reporting to the Section Manager, you will lead sub-contractor packages from preconstruction through to delivery whilst aiming to achieve the highest standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of your package, ensuring all works are planned and coordinated, safe, and the site is clean and organised.
  • Promote a culture of safety leadership with a ‘boots on the ground' mentality, ensuring all works are carried out as planned and safely.
  • Plan and oversee all logistical requirements within your package, liaising with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
  • Produce short-term programs and phase plans to accelerate works or mitigate issues, ensuring on-time delivery in line with the accepted program.
  • Monitor progress and performance, comparing planned vs. actual metrics, understanding trends, and reporting program implications to the Project Manager and package planner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the fit out and MEP team, considering the ‘big picture'.
  • Ensure technical aspects and compliance of the package with contract documents, construction specifications, and drawings.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Conduct and record quality inspections using FieldView.
  • Manage technical submittals and requests for information within your package scope.
  • Ensure the package meets scope of works and sub-contract requirements, understanding SRM's obligations.
  • Record key events and activities.
  • Promote and encourage the SRM Build Sure culture.

Fitout Focus

  • Industrial MEP Fitout: Co-ordinate and collaborate with the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades within the facility, ensuring excellence in quality and safety during delivery
  • Clean and Dry Rooms: Manage the construction and fitout of clean and dry rooms, ensuring they meet the stringent quality and performance requirements for a battery manufacturing environment.
  • Coordination with Design and Engineering Teams: Work closely with design and engineering teams to resolve any technical challenges during the fitout phase.
  • Subcontractor Management: Ensure subcontractors for fitout works adhere to contract terms, deliver on time, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Coordinate with the safety manager to ensure all fitout activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Your Profile

  • A qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a similar field and / or and trade background.
  • Experience delivering multi-million-pound building projects.
  • Managed Fitout packages for high-profile projects, ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Led weekly progress meetings, providing detailed reports on package status, identifying delays, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Oversaw procurement of materials, negotiating with suppliers for competitive pricing while maintaining high quality.
  • Worked closely with design and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges during construction.
  • Managed site activities and coordinated with the safety manager to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience building clean and dry rooms on large-scale industrial projects.
  • Experience in industrial MEP fitout would be advantageous
  • Experience of NEC contract administration, including the management of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
  • Good knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with construction software packages such as FieldView, Viewpoint, Dalux, and Asta is desirable.

The Pre-Construction Buildability – Project Engineer role

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Project Engineer will focuses on developing practical, efficient, and safe construction methods. As a growing discipline in the UK, it offers strong progression opportunities.

You'll be responsible for providing support to the ‘methods' team. In particular:

  • Review and input to the constructability of the permanent design.
  • Draw up the structural works execution strategy.
  • Draw up a preparation schedule for Methods and Plant.
  • Participate in technical/price studies for different construction solutions for the structure.
  • Set the execution methods (methods sequencing, operating procedures, phasing, cycles) in line with the Programme and the Quality-Safety-Environment rules.
  • Carry out studies regarding site installations and the lifting equipment working closely with the lifting team.
  • Determine all plant resources needed for steelwork erection, cladding installation, M&E Logistical movements and safety.
  • Provide monitoring and inspection of manufacturers of special plant/equipment: consultation, ordering, checking the calculation notes and fabrication drawings, acceptance in factory, dummy assembly, packaging.
  • Manage the Methods technicians/engineers and draughtsperson.
  • Monitor studies of technical risks (Methods) of the project.

Your profile

  • Engineering Degree qualified and preferably have a construction engineering industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, IStructE, MCIOB, etc)
  • Experience of working on large construction projects £100mil +
  • Knowledge of the full Microsoft office suite
  • Autocad skills to review or sketch designs preferred – but ability to pick up software with training quickly.
  • Coordination and negotiation skills
  • Technical knowledge and commercially minded
  • Methodical, have authority, tenacious and have a sense of responsibility.

The Passive Fire Assurance role

The Passive Fire Assurance Manager is a key member of the team and ensures compliance with the fire strategy, legislation and Building Regulations at the time of construction. You will be responsible for supporting projects with queries and concerns relating to passive fire issues and using your expert knowledge be able to support projects to demonstrate compliance at the time of construction or where necessary guide the project to reach a compliant resolution. If the situation arises you may be required to assist the project in arranging fire tests or engineering judgements.

You are responsible for carryout out site visits, inspections and audits – including off site when required, raising awareness of non-compliance and good practice in relation to passive fire and recording keeping. You are responsible for sharing your expert knowledge and driving compliance on projects in relation to passive fire and maintain a robust portfolio of evidence to demonstrate compliance.

Your Profile

Technical Fire Safety Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of fire-safety elements including structural, fabric (e.g. dry lining), façade, and MEP interfaces.
  • Extensive on-site experience across large construction projects.
  • Leads fire assurance strategies from design through to handover, maintaining robust audit trails and installation/testing records.
  • Manages fire-stopping and builders works packages on live projects.
  • Conducts audits to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Troubleshoots fire-related incidents and arranges bespoke fire testing.
  • Familiar with Regulation B, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, and the Building Safety Act.

The Package Manager role - Infrastructure: 

Reporting to the Infrastructure Project Manager you will be a responsible for the management of trade-contractor packages within the infrastructure and substructure team, leading a team of engineers and subcontractors to deliver the project to the highest possible standard of safety and performance. 

We are looking for someone who;

  • Knowledge and experience of pumping stations, storage tanks and rising mains, deep excavations, water management, earthwork rhynes, concrete culverts and channels and siphonic drainage. 
  • Experience with the associated civils works for all utilities – water, sprinkler mains, HV, LV and data. 
  • Experience with NEC contracts and the management of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events. 
  • Good knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards 
  • Familiarity with construction software package – FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta are desirable.

SRM are preparing for the commencement of a major programme of construction works in Port Talbot, South Wales. The works to be undertaken will involve heavy construction/ civil engineering works across a variety of industrial work fronts over the next 3 to 4 years, commencing initially with a series of enabling works ahead of the main programme of works commencing Q3 : 2025.

The Package Manager role  

 
As a key member of the project team, reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, coordination and management of a number of sub-contractor employed in a variety of trades within the respective area of works. 

 
The role requires a high level of interfacing between internal departments and external agencies, such as Architects, Engineers, Construction Workers, Sub-contractors, Client agents, Clerk of Works and Site Staff with the coordination and management of the works contractors being of key importance as the project will be delivered under a Construction Management form of contract (NEC 4). Ensuring  SRM obligations to the client & works contractors are understood and discharged in line with the contract conditions.

 
You'll also organise and conduct weekly site progress meetings with the works contractors to monitor logistical interfaces, programme, progress, quality and safety, ensuring the Chief Engineer and Project Manager/Project Director are updated on all issues 

 
 
Your profile  

Key packages / areas of focus will be;

  • Structure (RC Frame) and Envelop

Ideally you will have a degree in civil engineering, heavy construction,  construction management or a construction related field

  • Must be a Team Player
  • Must be hands on and with a “can do attitude”
  • Will be site-based working as a key project team member
  • IT Proficiency a must
  • have the ability to prepare a 3 week look-ahead programme with assistance of project planner
  • have proven working experience in package management
  • have experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator would be an advantage 
  • be knowledgeable of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards 
  • have or be working working towards a construction industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, CIOB, RICS, ICE, CIBSE, IStructE, etc) 
  • Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot.

The Section Manager role - Facades

As a senior member of the project team, reporting to the project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, coordination and leadership of a number of sub-contractors employed in a variety of trades within the respective area of works.

There'll be a high level of interfacing between internal departments and external agencies such as; architects, engineers, sub-contractors and client agents.

You'll review and manage numerous packages for your designated area including tender information produced by design teams.

Your profile

Core areas / packages of work will include ;  External works or Frame

  • Main contractor construction experience
  • Must have previous experience managing packages on Multi-million construction projects
  • Experience of managing multiple engineering and /or trade packages from internals to basements
  • Experience in industrial major Construction projects would be a bonus
  • Experience in procurement of packages during the PSCA Stage.

Job Title:      Speech and Language Therapist

Salary:       Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience) 

                         *Please note- basic grade SALT offers from £3,000+, Specialist from £39 00+ & Highly specialist from £48 00+* 

Hours:        37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours  (Part time hours may be considered)  

Contract:        Permanent ( Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

The role:   

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School 

Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working. This will guide your practice within an education setting and clarify your roles and responsibilities, while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies. You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, also contributing to staff training and consultation as required This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Essential Criteria:   

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered  1-2 yrs experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting. Some relevant experience in a previously held job of engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma informed practice
  • Some experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Some experience of communicating with/working with families/relatives and carers
  • An interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
  • Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of different SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and knowledge of how to formulate support plans based on needs profile
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and working towards further qualifications relevant to the client group supporting  

Desirable:  

  • Some understanding of the other differences, e.g. sensory and motor, which may impact on an individual’s communication strengths, differences, traits, difficulties and needs profile
  • Some evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
  • Full driving license and access to a car (Highly Desirable)
