JOB PROFILE
Role Title: Machine Operator
Division/Department: Production
Objectives :
- To ensure that the daily production plan is carried out.
- To ensure that the machine operating time targets are met.
- The process sheet is a legal document - ensure that the machine settings are followed exactly, correct Sealing temperature and times followed.
- To ensure that a high quality product is produced.
- To ensure that the product has correct Use by and price information printed.
Key Responsibilities:
Product
- Operate machines as per process sheet specification - ensuring you have the approved setting used for each batch of product.
- Make sure that correct batch codes are recorded on process sheet for all products. Machine temperature sheets to be filled as you go.
- Meet the agreed target as set for your area
- Make sure all the products sealed up - carry out the company NO WASTE policy
- Cooperate with the Team Leaders on Production Line and Finishing Line to ensure that products are ready on time and of good quality.
- Quality and consistency of product is critical - THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY - report any problems which affect quality and consistency.
- Ensure that all products applied with correct codes.
- Efficient cooperative team member
Hygiene & Cleaning Systems
- Respect and obey the company hygiene rules.
- Operate Standard Operating Procedures for cleaning in machine operating areas.
- Operate CLEAN AS YOU GO in your area.
- Report to QA Manager/Production Supervisor any quality/cleaning/hygiene or foreign body issues.
- Report any machine maintenance or structural and equipment issues.
- Do not clock out at end of day until you have agreed this with your supervisor.
- Help production line when required.
People
Reporting to Production Supervisor.
To facilitate needs in the stores or despatch areas when required
Other duties from time to time to help in other departments

Your Duties:

The Role:
As PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER you will be responsible for meeting daily production targets effectively by producing (including spreading), Cutting, folding, Labelling, picking sandwiches and other products; increasing productivity and ensuring quality standards are met
Your Duties :
- Producing products and carrying activities around producing products such as cutting, chopping, washing, mixing ingredients, labelling, picking according to daily production plans while maintaining highest quality and productivity levels at all times.
- Liaising with other High Care/ Low care team members to ensure production processes meet the demands of customers.
- Providing support in sorting out production problems either for quality / shortages / damages where necessary.
- Keeping production and dispatch free from 'bottle necks' and ensuring that customer orders are dispatched on an agreed timely basis
- Ensuring that all paperwork is updated and completed accurately.
- Liaising with people from all departments to ensure orders are fulfilled to the requirements of the customer.
- Ensuring that daily and weekly records of work are kept for approval and returned to the office as soon as possible to generate invoices.
- Attend meetings as and when required, providing information upon request.
- Assisting in cleaning team where necessary.
- As a food handler, all general operatives must follow good manufacturing practices at all times while carrying out any activity to make sure highest standards of hygiene maintains in all areas.
- Assisting in the correct storage, rotation and proper identification of all food and non-foods.
- Taking part of all routine/ scheduled cleaning & housekeeping activities.
- Ensuring that all company and safety rules are followed to organisational standards
- Reporting all unsafe equipment and hazards to a member of the Management Team
- Ensuring all fire exits and stairs are kept clear
- Ensuring that all doors are locked and lights turned off before going home
- Promoting a healthy, clean, safe, secure and productive working environment

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction and engineering business on the appointment of a SHEQ Manager.
This hands-on role will see you take ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality compliance across multiple projects in both NI and ROI. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for implementing robust SHEQ systems, driving a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with UK and Irish legislation.
In your new role:
- Manage and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
- Develop, review and update SHEQ policies and procedures in line with legislation and industry best practice
- Create project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Carry out regular site visits to monitor safety performance and ensure compliance
- Lead risk evaluations and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate with HR to deliver safety inductions and training for employees and contractors
- Inspect plant, equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Compile quality reports, statistical reviews and other relevant documentation
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Support pre-qualification and tender submissions by completing H&S questionnaires
- Promote a proactive, collaborative safety culture across all levels of the business
What you will need to succeed:
- Relevant experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or related sectors
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Experience auditing against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Strong working knowledge of safety regulations in the UK and Ireland
- IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across NI and ROI
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don’t worry if you don’t):
- Level 6 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- ISO Internal Auditor certification
- Experience within M&E construction projects
