**3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer**
We are in search of a **3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer** to join Leidos UK within the Defence Team, based Herefordshire.
In response to the success of the growing business, Leidos requires a number of 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineers to support this expansion by helping to create compelling solutions for our existing and future customers.
**Responsibilities**
The preferred candidate will be primary responsible for the operation and maintenance of MS System Centre Configuration Manager(SCCM)/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) but also be demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies such as Microsoft Windows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP) and virtualisation (Hyper-V) , Microsoft Stack Technologies (Sharepoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologies and storage.
The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes-based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. The duties of the role will include on-site support and out of hours on call support.
You will be expected to contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and provide material to support the project work or the operational support service.
**Who do we need?**
We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure, ideally from an operational support services background. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI's and SLA's. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.
**Ideally, you will:**
+ Have excellent knowledge of MS System Centre Configuration Manager/ Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM);
+ Have excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;
+ Have excellent knowledge of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 - 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support;
+ Have good general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls;
+ Have good general knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre (SCSM, SCOM, SCORCH), Office365, MS Exchange & CLI tooling such as PowerShell;
+ Have good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies;
+ Have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer;
+ Possess excellent communication skills;
+ Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide network engineering support to the Defensive Network Services
Install, configure, and maintain networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
Manage routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, and NAT
Ensure secure network implementation in accordance with MOD standards (e.g., JSP 604 / 440)
Diagnose and resolve network faults and performance issues
Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and change records
Collaborate closely with project teams, security teams, and MOD stakeholders
Essential Skills & Experience:
Active DV Clearance - must be currently held
Strong experience as a hands-on Network Engineer
CCNA certified (or equivalent level); CCNP desirable
Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network environments
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and secure networking practices
Comfortable working in a high-security MOD setting, fully on-site
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary project team

A Network Engineer is required for our public sector client who are based in Bradford. The successful candidate will bring solid networking experience and a collaborative approach to supporting critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers
Assist with firewall rule changes and basic policy management (Palo Alto or similar)
Support VPN and remote access solutions
