The role would suit an accountant either with previous rural or agriculture experience or a genuine passion and knowledge of the industry.

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Ensure 100% compliance
• Support the wider team and mentor junior team members
• Have the ability to problem solve and advise clients on best practices

About you:

• Be Level 4, AAT qualified or working towards
• Experience/knowledge of rural/agriculture

• Hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle (this is essential to be considered for this position)

• Oversee financial reporting, cost monitoring, and funding drawdowns across active investment projects
• Prepare and review management accounts for investment vehicles and joint ventures
• Manage debt and equity funding processes including drawdowns and compliance monitoring
• Lead the preparation of investor reporting packs and manage related communications
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other external service providers
• Support refinancing, due diligence, and other corporate finance activity as needed
• Coordinate statutory accounts and audit processes for relevant entities
• Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and other regulatory requirements
• Provide timely financial insight to inform business planning and investment decisions

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Strong technical and reporting skills, with a hands-on approach

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS) and the maintenance of our internal environment.

The role will report into the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance and will work in partnership with the Transactions and Financial Planning and Analysis teams. Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly End Close activities

• Responsible for month end balance sheet journals across all legal entities
• Ensure accrued and deferred revenue are allocated correctly on the balance sheet, investigate aged accrued income
• Review aging of recoverable expense “work in progress” account to ensure current and billed/written off on a timely basis
• Review other balance sheet accounts (e.g. VAT, AR, AP & tax balances) to ensure correctly classified on a monthly basis
• Review and reconcile the intercompany matrix
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all accounts are balanced and accurate
• Ownership and maintenance of the Group Consolidation workbooks
• Key point of contact for our external auditors, during the audit process to provide necessary documentation and support
• Responsible for the annual compliance calendar to ensure timely submissions for all legal entities
• In conjunction with the Head of Financial Accounting and Compliance maintain and develop strong internal controls and processes
• Support the wider team with treasury related activities, cashflow forecasting and covenant reporting
• Potential to assist with tax preparation (depending on experience)
• Ad-hoc financial projects as needed

Key Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
• IFRS background
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues
• Experience in a global business is preferred
