Our client, an Aerospace and Defence supplier is looking for an Avionics Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a contract basis at their site in Broughton.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold the sole British nationality and be eligible to obtain full SC Clearance.
- 12-month initial contract.
- Based in Chester, with 60% remote working available.
- Deemed inside IR35, rates are open to discussion.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced aircraft avionic or mechanical engineer with knowledge of data configuration storage and referencing. A high level of attention to detail is required.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with modification Design Engineers to support the production of modification documentation.
- Identifying, collating and referencing design data through the project Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) tool and network files.
- Producing certification evidence forms and letters to allow modifications to be submitted for Certification Validation Engineer (CVE) approval.
- Production of test documentation and other analyses/ reports.
- Production of modification control documentation.
- Ensuring that all engineering activities undertaken are conducted in accordance with company and site procedures that reflect best practice and is in accordance with the relevant governance agencies procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Proven and recent experience in the design, integration and certification of aircraft avionic and mechanical systems.
- Understanding and experience of aircraft design regulations.
- Experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering team within the aerospace industry.
Desirable
- Knowledge of aircraft systems.
- Knowledge of military aircraft modification and certification processes and regulations.
- Knowledge of civil aircraft modification and certification processes and regulations.

We’re supporting a Sheffield-based aerospace manufacturer in hiring a full-time Engineering Painter. The role involves prepping and painting complex components to meet exacting standards. You’ll need a steady hand, good technical knowledge, and a keen eye for quality. This is about getting the detail right and taking pride in what you produce.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team who work to strict standards but back each other to get the job done properly. The environment is clean, well-run and focused on quality over quantity.
What you’ll be doing:
- Surface prep using abrasive, vapour and grit blasting.
- Applying coatings and finishes to aerospace parts in line with PQPs and route cards.
- Spraying parts to exact tolerances and technical specifications.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures and structured daily routines.
- Keeping records up to date and reporting any non-conformances.
- Using PPE and maintaining a safe, clean work area.
- Carrying out routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Working alongside other departments to meet quality and delivery targets.
- Either apprenticeship trained or significant hands-on industry experience.
- A solid background in aerospace or precision manufacturing is ideal.
- Able to read and interpret SOPs, technical drawings and process sheets.
- Skilled in manual finishing and coating methods.
- Quality-focused with a steady, methodical approach.
- Good team player who takes responsibility for their own work.
- Familiarity with NADCAP and AS9100 standards.
