Our Aeropsace customer is seeking skilled individuals to support visual and dimensional measurement of Forgings efforts at their facility.
Job Description:
- Visual inspection with some Forgings requiring manual dimensional assessment using all common manual measurement equipment.
- Daily inspection of Forgings. Resource will be checking for conformity to customer specifications, acting as a quality gate.
- Further orientation will be performed onsite.
Skill Requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience using dimensional inspection equipment
- Hands on experience with GD&T per ANSI Y 14.5
- Must be able to interpret Blue Prints and drawings
- Familiarity with Quality and Manufacturing processes
- Preferably an inspection background in receiving, in-process inspection knowledge of FAI reports
- Boeing, Airbus, Spirit, Collins, Meggitt, Rolls Royce and some Defence Platforms.
- Must be UK Citizen

The Role - Aerospace Mechanical Technician
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical biased Technician to join a prominent aerospace engineering business in the Wolverhampton area.
You will be assembling and testing a mix of complex mechanical systems either in the repair section or in the new product build area.
You'll ideally have some prior aerospace experience, however for the right person this could be a great step into this world.
Duties - Aerospace Mechanical Technician
- Finding and testing faults of complex hydraulic products.
- Assembling of complex hydraulic products.
- Reading engineering drawings.
- Completing Quality Audits.
- Building new/repairing complex hydraulic products.
- Using measuring equipment such as Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Height Gauges to inspect component parts.
Background - Aerospace Assembly Technician
- Apprentice trained (or equivalent level of qualification) ideally within Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience within a complex engineering/manufacturing environment
- Competent at reading and following different set procedures.
- Competency with a range of assembly tools
- Hydraulic Testing Experience

Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines and processes
*Perform first-off inspections and complete all associated quality documentation
*Independently carry out machine set-up and tooling adjustments
*Use precision measuring tools to verify component dimensions to aerospace standards
*Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all machining tasks
*Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to ensure parts meet strict tolerance requirements
Key Experience & Skills
*Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
*Extensive experience (5+ years) working with CNC mill/turn machines such as Okuma, Mazak, Lathe, DMG, Matsura, or Puma
*Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and multi-axis operations
*Confident in using micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to achieve tight tolerances
*Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings and work independently to machining requirements
*Previous experience in aerospace or a similar high-precision industry is highly desirable
*Quality-conscious with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset
Additional Information
*Day shift role, with potential transition to a double-day shift pattern in the future
*Overtime available when required
*Candidates must be self-certified and will be expected to hold a quality stamp after a qualifying period
