My client, one of the UKs biggest producers or zero carbon electricity, is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join a high-profile data programme. The ideal candidate will bring a structured, delivery-focused approach and the ability to navigate both technical and business environments.

This role sits within a complex, regulated organisation, where multiple teams and stakeholders are involved across data, compliance, performance monitoring, and reporting workstreams.

The client values pragmatism over process — this is not a textbook Agile environment, so we’re looking for someone who can flex their approach, manage teams confidently, and keep delivery on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional delivery teams
  • Lead and facilitate sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews)
  • Help teams manage scope, blockers, and sprint commitments effectively
  • Maintain focus on delivery, ensuring workstreams are aligned with business priorities
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads
  • Proactively manage dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure transparency, visibility, and shared understanding
  • Track progress against KPIs and performance metrics, where applicable
  • Support backlog refinement, ensuring user stories are clear and actionable
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement without forcing rigid frameworks

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Delivery Lead in large, complex programmes
  • Experience working within data-heavy projects (e.g., data platforms, pipelines, analytics)
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, but with a pragmatic and adaptable mindset
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry or working within regulatory delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – you’ll need to engage with technical teams, business leads, and governance functions alike
  • Experience supporting or delivering KPI / performance monitoring solutions
  • Comfortable working with mixed-skill teams and collaborating with Business Analysts
  • Confident navigating ambiguity and managing competing priorities
  • Eligible to undergo SC clearance (must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years)

Desirable:

  • Scrum Master or Agile certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe etc.)
  • Background or qualifications in Business Analysis or Project Delivery
  • Exposure to tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps
