  • Conduct field trials and research to evaluate new crop varieties, fertilizers, and crop protection products.
  • Monitor crop health and field conditions, providing timely recommendations for intervention.
  • Educate farmers on best practices for soil conservation, water management, and biodiversity enhancement.
  • Analyze soil, tissue, and water samples to inform nutrient management strategies.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and regulatory changes in agronomy and sustainable agriculture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, industry partners, and research institutions.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations on agronomic findings and recommendations.
  • Promote the adoption of integrated pest management (IPM) and other environmentally sound farming techniques.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in agronomy or crop advisory services.
  • Strong knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management (IPM).
  • Familiarity with sustainable agriculture principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple client relationships.
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the designated region.
  • Proficiency in using agricultural data management software and tools.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., The British Institute of Agricultural Consultants) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of local crop types and farming systems in East Anglia is a plus.
