We are looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer in Agriculture to join our land-based team on a maternity cover basis.
Agriculture students at Moulton College make use of an extensive range of practical resources as an important part of their course. These include nearly 500 hectares of commercially farmed estate on a range of soil types. Our team is going from strength to strength with consistent growth in student numbers year on year. With a clear focus on student experience and a commitment to high professional standards this is a team that is going places.
The arable enterprise includes a variety of crops including wheat, oats, oilseed rape and grass. With sheep and beef livestock enterprises, the College also has an extensive range of agricultural machinery and specialist workshops for machinery maintenance.
Interviews for this role will be taking place week commencing 13 October 2025.
Your dutiesDuties will include the teaching and training of students and other client groups to quality standards set by the college, tutoring and management of one or more courses or groups of students, along with development of agricultural courses. Further requirements of this role will be to participate in internal verification, auditing and other quality monitoring processes to ensure learners, customers and clients receive exemplary service.

Person specificationIdeally you will have experience and sound knowledge of arable, livestock and farm machinery. You should be educated to HNC level or have equivalent vocational experience within an agricultural discipline. You will have a genuine passion for farming and the latest developments in the sector. You may also hold a range of additional qualifications such as NPTC in Tractor Proficiency, PA certificates or safe telehandler operation certificates. You will also hold or be prepared to work towards and achieve a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education), have obtained a minimum of grade C or equivalent in GCSE English & Maths, and are committed to, and have evidence of CPD.

We're looking for an Agriculture Manager to join our Farming and Fisheries team. We'll look to you to ensure the responsible sourcing of products in line with our agriculture strategy with a particular focus on pigs, poultry and eggs. You'll build strong relationships with farmers and suppliers that we partner with, travelling across the UK to meet them and being a representative of our Co-op. As an Agriculture Manager, you'll support and coordinate projects to make sure our sourcing standards are met and help us deliver against our sustainability targets.
What you'll do
- Focus on pig, poultry and eggs while also supporting other areas in the team.
- Work collaboratively with our farming supply chain, engaging with farmers and suppliers across our categories
- Make sure Co-op sourcing standards are met across health, welfare, and environment
- Help to deliver Co-op's sustainability strategies by working on a range of projects and collaborating with both internal and external teams
- Manage a range of queries from customers and members relating to farming and provide updates around Co-op's sustainability and welfare initiatives
- Collect and report data on our performance against public targets and external reporting requirements
- Support in the development of Farming and Fisheries sustainability policies
- Collaborate with the Senior Agriculture Manager to plan, organise, and complete strategies and actively contribute to the team's overall goals

Your role with us
Join us as a Food and Agriculture Adviser and you’ll provide flexible, evidence-based advice that helps to inform and develop the FCDO and UK Government’s policy positions. Working on the costing and delivery of our programmes, and with a strong focus on food security and sustainable, inclusive growth, you’ll strengthen the breadth and depth of international food and agriculture work, operating at regional and country level in a range of different contexts, including in Fragile and Conflict Affected States (FCAS). Building markets and trading opportunities, reducing humanitarian need, addressing conflict and migration, delivering the climate agenda and protecting natural resources – you’ll focus on all these areas in this challenging and highly rewarding role.
Your exact responsibilities will depend on the specific requirements of the team you join, but typically you’ll provide strong leadership on food, agriculture and livelihood issues, and guide strategic, programmatic and delivery choices designed to maximise our global impact. Using seminars and meetings to champion learning and the use of evidence, we’ll also expect you to foster collaboration on food, agriculture and related areas between policy teams, research teams, regional and country-based teams, and to work on maximising cohesion by taking an inclusive approach to everyone who works in the wider network.
Who we’re looking for
