  • Advise on the selection of appropriate crop varieties and seed treatments based on local conditions and client objectives.
  • Monitor crop growth and health throughout the season, identifying potential issues and recommending timely interventions.
  • Evaluate and recommend farm machinery, technology, and equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide guidance on sustainable farming practices, including organic methods, water conservation, and biodiversity enhancement.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing farm business plans, including budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the agricultural sector.
  • Deliver technical training and workshops to farm managers and staff, often virtually.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, farm visits (where applicable), and recommendations provided.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, researchers, and other agricultural professionals to provide holistic advice.
  • Promote best practices in health and safety on farms.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural discipline.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of practical experience in agronomy, crop production, and farm management.
  • Strong knowledge of crop physiology, soil science, entomology, and plant pathology.
  • Experience with various farm management software and precision agriculture technologies.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and organic farming principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly to a non-technical audience, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a client portfolio, and effectively prioritise tasks in a remote environment.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites occasionally if required, though the role is primarily remote.
  • Membership in relevant professional organisations is a plus.
