About the role
Farnborough Airport Limited is looking to recruit an Airport Operations Officer to work as part of the larger Operations function.
Within this role you will work as part of a team to:
- Ensure prompt and accurate responses to all handling requests.
- Coordinate the daily movement schedule for the airport, to ensure optimum use of the operational day while remaining within regulative constraints.
- Ensure relevant regulations are followed and upheld at all times.
- Apply a strong attention to detail in sorting, collating, and transferring information into the FBO’s computer system.
- Review any requirements and requests from Operators / Crews and action accordingly.
- Communicate with incoming and outgoing aircraft and provide all services promptly as requested.
- Provide a safe, fast, and efficient handling of all aircraft movements through the airport.
- Execute clients’ requests including third-party bookings with great attention to detail and without delay (hotel, catering, transport etc.).
- Liaise with all Operators to deliver the highest standards of personalised service without delay to passengers.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on relevant flight requests.
- Act as the first point of contact for the Crew, representing the airports high standards at all times.
- Maintain a high level of professional services and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Consistently demonstrate and encourage others to adhere to the company values of Proud, Passionate, Ambition and Together in your day-to-day role.

- Must be able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) certificate to the required security clearance level for this role.

**Job Description:**
Reporting to the SE Capability Lead and to their assigned manager, the SE Engineer role delivers assigned SE tasks, prioritising work, delivering output and monitoring outcomes. Typical tasks will support aircraft programmes and will include common and peculiar-to-type Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Support and Test Equipment (S&TE) and tooling. Initially, the role will undertake tasks across a range of air systems and management chains, though future structures may require greater platform specialism. The role requires well-practiced technical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret tasks, distribute and sequence technical work, adhere to delivery standards, and maintaining schedule being judged as essential. The incumbent must be capable of exercising a degree of independent engineering judgement, as well as analysing and interpreting technical information, understanding safety, quality and regulatory requirements and being able to relate SE to the supported air systems.

+ National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 3 qualification (e.g. advanced apprenticeship) in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subject, or equivalent career experience.
+ Professional registration as an Engineering Technician (Eng Tech), or evidence of actively working towards registration.
+ Commitment to Quality: Proven track record of driving first-time quality in engineering outputs.

Role Overview
The EGSE Engineer is responsible for specifying, procuring, and supporting electrical test racks used during spacecraft build and test activities. This includes validation, routine maintenance, and the configuration and administration of computers within the EGSE network.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and fault diagnosis on electronic and RF test racks.
- Administer computer systems and networks across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Develop and maintain scripts and programs to support automated testing.
- Participate in environmental and launch test campaigns.
- Prepare test specifications, review supplier documentation, and support design and non-conformance reviews of test equipment.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of electronic and RF test systems.
- Proven fault-finding skills down to board and component level.
- Experience in network and computer administration (Windows/Linux).
- Proficient in producing technical documentation (procedures, reports, specifications).
- Familiarity with communication interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422.
- Experience with ATE environments including PCI, VXI, PXI.
- Skilled in using general-purpose laboratory test equipment.
- Experience in the design, manufacture, and commissioning of test systems.
- Willingness to support shift work and travel internationally for test campaigns.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in electrical integration of spacecraft equipment.
- Working knowledge of TMTC databases.
- Ability to write and debug test sequences/scripts for spacecraft systems, including FDIR via Central Checkout Systems (CCS).
- Experience with environmental and launch test campaigns.
- Advanced scripting skills, particularly in Linux/Unix bash.
- Programming experience in languages such as C, Java, Python, TCL, VBA.
