Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and direct aircraft movements in designated airspace using radar, non-radar, and procedural control methods.
- Ensure compliance with all Air Traffic Control (ATC) regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain safe separation between aircraft on the ground and in the air.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, providing clear and concise instructions and essential flight information.
- Monitor weather conditions and disseminate relevant information to flight crews.
- Manage arrival and departure sequencing to optimise airport capacity and minimise delays.
- Respond promptly and professionally to abnormal situations and emergencies, coordinating with relevant agencies.
- Collaborate with other ATC units and stakeholders to ensure seamless air traffic flow.
- Maintain proficiency through regular simulator training and recurrent checks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of ATC procedures and safety management systems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior controllers.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and operational integrity.
- Valid and current Air Traffic Controller Licence issued by the relevant aviation authority (e.g., CAA).
- Relevant ratings (e.g., Aerodrome, Approach, Area Control) as required for the operational environment.
- A minimum of 7 years of operational experience as a certified Air Traffic Controller.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with accuracy and composure.
- Excellent communication, situational awareness, and decision-making skills.
- Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations, meteorology, and navigation principles.
- Ability to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Medical Certificate appropriate for an Air Traffic Controller.
