  • Full Time Position - You must be able to do 40+ hours per week.
  • Shift times: This is a 24-hour operation, so you will be asked to do both day and night shifts! These will be 12 hour shifts.

What you’ll be doing:

  • To control access into restricted areas of the Airport including: Checking security ID, and physical searches: Body, bags, and vehicles to a minimum of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standards of all persons and articles carried, requiring access through the Security Checkpoints.
  • To carry out x ray duties of all items entering the restricted area.
  • respond to emergency incidents following the agreed procedures.
  • To carry out escort duties, including special events when required.
  • To undertake foot patrols of operational areas and designated routes.
  • To maintain a log of all incidents and provide written and verbal reports to the Security Managers and Security Supervision.
  • To be compliant with Aviation Security’s local operating procedures, working practices, and protocols.
  • To undertake Mandatory Training as stipulated by the company, in compliance with CAA standards.
  • To meet compliance and throughput targets as stipulated by the DfT, CAA, and the Security Management Team.
  • To participate in a culture of continual improvement by fully participating in the success of the business and own self-development.

The role involves regular Control Room duties.  The Security Team also provide a large degree of daily support to the College community in an array of operational aspects to ensure that all internal and external activities are supported to the highest standards

Main Duties

  • aintain a good level of physical fitness to ensure that you can actively and physically fulfil your security responsibilities;
  • Undertake staff training as required and receive guidance and instruction from the Head of Security, Deputy Head of Security and Security Supervisor when necessary;
  • Carry out specialist and bespoke security duties in connection with events and VIP visits i.e. Fourth of June celebrations, CCF Tattoo and St Andrews Day;
  • To be smart and presentable;

Location:  Huntington 

Salary: £31,449 per annum basic

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Security Officer on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. You will be working an average of 48 hours per week on a Monday to Friday. Shifts will be from 07:30 - 17:06. 

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per the business and Customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site-specific reports.
  • Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise the Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via the Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards and DV Clearance Standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel).
  • A Valid UK Driving License.

This is a 6 on 3 off shift pattern working Nights only.

We are looking for people who currently hold a valid Door Supervisor licence.

You must have a full UK driving license and access to your own transport.
