Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business makes sure we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. As an Area Manager, you'll make sure your site is running as smoothly as it should so that we can meet customer demand. You will be leading a team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of a high quality and taking on a number of projects across our network to drive productivity.
Key job responsibilities
Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing
Analyse and implement changes to keep quality and productivity at a consistently high level
Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity and increase quality of service for customers within your area of responsibility

Work collaboratively with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices
A day in the life
You'll work on a shift pattern at Lutterworth, making sure it is as productive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety and uphold quality and shift performance standards. You'll also oversee process improvements within your area and drive implementation. A typical day is varied, including everything from routine team management and daily operational responsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operational contingency tasks. You'll also be a role model and mentor to new managers.
About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our 'under the roof' associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.
Meanwhile, our 'on the road' people work with Amazon Flex - a network of delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon footprint, supported by a portfolio of vehicles (including Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
Basic Qualifications

We are looking for an exceptionally talented, bright and driven individual to join our Human Resources team as a Senior HR Business Partner covering a number of sites on the South West Coast. The Senior HR Business Partner will be an advisor to senior Operations leaders, utilizing their strong HR experience and expertise. You will have a client partnership with the Senior Regional Manager in Operations responsible for all of the South West Coast and will be expected to travel. You will develop and execute business strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and employee engagement. As a natural culture steward, you will partner with internal stakeholders to integrate Amazonu2019s peculiar culture into the employee experience. In addition, you will put in place standard processes and policies enabled by standard work and help guide the organization through change by being champions of Change Management.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of HR professionals through 'hands-on' leadership at site level, including coaching and developing across the area
- Drive Associate engagement strategy across the area for HR and Operations
- Act as an Employee Relations Subject Matter Expert, by monitoring associate sentiment mechanisms to drive effective engagement
- Manage ER case work working with internal and external stakeholders
- Create people-centric plans to meet business needs through succession planning and organisational design
- Facilitate and manage the quarterly talent review process
- Draw insights from data to improve processes, employee engagement and policy alignment across the business
- Play an active role as part of the HR Regional leadership team
Take ownership of highly ambiguous and complex HR projects with UKI impact. Leading change initiatives at scale.
Responsible for implementing new tools and technology that drive efficiency
A day in the life
A typical day in this role involves providing strategic and tactical leadership direction, executing on people initiatives, providing internal customer support, advising and coaching employees and leaders through development and performance matters, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This role operates with autonomy and requires discretion and a hands-on approach to monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of engagement. The Sr. HRBP routinely partners with leaders at multiple levels of the organization to develop forward-looking strategies and goals focused on the employee experience and operational objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- A Bacheloru2019s degree in an HR related field or equivalent through experience
- Experience as an HR Business Partner in a fast-paced distribution or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of external practices, trends and tools used in HR
- Experience with MS Office tools and HR Information Systems
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal form
- Ability to use analytical and experiential data for decision making
- Influencing skills
- Full UK Driving licence
Preferred Qualifications
- A Masteru2019s degree or MBA in an HR related field
- CIPD Qualified

Key Job responsibilities:
Drive complex new site designs and legacy site upgrade designs from planning to execution, including automation integration.
Lead and drive technology integration and standardization in WW-wide programs and products, owning all complex layout integrations and optimizations in the assigned Delivery Stations.
Influence and manage senior stakeholders to drive efficiency improvements and innovation in the network
Provide process expertise on engineering design defining complex material flow, conveyor positioning, equipment requirements and real estate implications from process requirements
Lead complex strategic and innovative initiatives and identify project opportunities to improve the processes and stations designs, engaging and influencing their senior key stakeholders.
Provide design direction and effectively communicate the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.
Influence the successful intake, piloting, and roll out of new innovation initiatives impacting network station designs and operations
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects

You will lead end to end design for new delivery stations and work to improve existing delivery station processes. You will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, some of the internal stakeholder include operations, design and construction, launch and expansion, and safety.
You will produce best in class layouts for new launches, optimize the existing stations and present to leadership for approval. You will work on automation program to integrate new technologies into legacy stations.
You will lead projects to create mechanisms to improve the stations and come up with innovative solutions to the complex design issues.

Basic Qualifications
Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering (any discipline) or foreign equivalent
