Alliance Pioneer Group (APG) are recruiting for Self Employed Ambulance Care Assistants to work from our Plymouth base for ad-hoc shifts
APG are the leading ambulance, events & medical services provider in the South West. Licensed by the CQC, members of the independent Ambulance Association and contracted to the NHS for 999 services in Devon & Cornwall, APG are dedicated to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of medical care.
As an Ambulance Care Assistant you will be transporting non-emergency patients to and from hospital appointments, nursing homes, residential homes and more ensuring the safety and comfort of all patients on board our ambulances.
Essential Criteria for Ambulance Care Assistant Role:
- A full driving licence, held for over 12 months, with no more than 6 points.
- Over 19 years of age.
- Careful and considerate driver.
- Understanding of patients' abilities (conditions/limitations).
- Good people skills with a caring, polite and friendly manner.
- Physically fit, as you will be required to move patients.
All staff must have a positive attitude, be well presented and have good communication skills. As part of the team you must be able to follow instructions, provide good customer care, and have a friendly and approachable manner.
Experience of working in a health care profession would be advantageous but full training will be provided for this role. Prospective staff should live within reasonable distance of Plymouth.

Job Introduction
Our electrical engineers are the backbone of our organisation because you play a pivotal role in restoring electricity supplies for our customers. Working alone, you are often the first person our customers might meet and in this role we also hope you will be the colleague that resolves their issue on site for them. You will have strong links to other Field Operations teams who can support onsite when necessary, but on the whole, you will be the face of National Grid onsite, providing solutions and an exceptional customer experience.
Some of the issues our customers could need your help with include: loss of supply at their property, safety concerns on our network, carrying out asset inspections or fitting meter isolator switches.
You will work 37 hours a week and subject to business need there may be requirement to undertake standby duties to provide coverage for our customers 24/7.
You are required to hold a recognised Level 2 Electrical qualification (NVQ/City and Guilds).
The Ideal Candidate
You will put health and safety at the forefront of everything you do, having an understanding of ESQCR & Electricity at Work Regulations whilst also driving a culture that safety is everyone's responsibility.
Experienced in electrical installation for commercial & domestic property and will have held customer facing roles previously which have helped develop excellent customer service and communication skills.
You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence and we will provide access to a Company van for business use only.
Subject to business need, there may be opportunity to broaden your duties depending on your skill set to carry out switching at HV. You will be eligible for an annual allowance for this additional work.
Holding a NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable but full training can be provided.
Operationally we require you to live within approximately 45 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
