How You'll Make an ImpactnInterface with Mechanical Design and Mechanical Integrity disciplines to collectively derive component life, including duty-based lifing.nCreate, adapt, and analyse turbomachinery air systems to determine temperature, pressure, and flow characteristics under various operating and environmental conditions.nConduct root cause analysis, weighted decision analysis, and design of experiments.nSpecify component and engine test requirements.nCalibrate analytical models using engine test data and fleet experience.nProvide production support through the processing of component and engine test readings.nDisseminate findings through reports and presentations.nImprove delivery by integrating toolchains and other process enhancements.nProduce and maintain method documents.nTest and validate internal and commercial code upgrades.nMonitor and report achievements against technical and schedule objectives.
What You BringnA minimum of five years of experience, building upon a Bachelor's or Master's degree with significant content in Automotive, Aerospace, or Turbomachinery air/cooling/sealing system design.nAbility to validate own results using 1D methods such as hand calculations.nAbility to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.nA thorough understanding of Fluid Dynamics theory and a keen interest in continuous personal development in the subject.nUnderstanding of investment casting manufacture, materials science, secondary air systems, and the origins of stress and creep.nExperience applying FEM and/or CFD analysis for fluid flow and heat transfer, using tools such as Patran, P-Thermal, RR SCO3/SPAN, Ansys, Abaqus, and CFD software like StarCCM, CFX, or Fluent.
