Business learning. On the job learning and experiences enabling you to develop your knowledge and understanding of your team and solution line.


Centralised learning. UK graduates complete in an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our business.









Your career beyond your Graduate programme



Once youu2019ve completed the formal graduate programme, youu2019ll continue to receive lots of support at Aon. To aid your professional development youu2019ll receive regular performance feedback, and work with your line manager towards promotions, such as moving from a Graduate role into a Consultant role and eventually moving up to a Senior Consultant role where you can be leading complex projects within just a few years.

Catastrophe analytics allows insurers and reinsurers, financial institutions, corporations, and public agencies to evaluate and manage natural and human-made catastrophe risk from perils ranging from earthquakes and hurricanes to floods, wildfires and cyber.



Catastrophe analysts come from a wide range of backgrounds in science, economics and engineering and perform risk quantification using a wide range of commercial models as well as internal tools developed by Aon.



Our graduate colleagues will learn how to use an Aonu2019s risk quantification tools, interpret results, and present to internal and external customers. We also offer the opportunity to experience some degree of specialisation by rotating though some of the more focussed teams like cyber, model development or model evaluation where models, methodologies and outputs get tested and peer reviewed.







Your role as a Catastrophe Modelling graduate:



Within our Catastrophe Modelling Graduate programme, we recruit graduates into one of the three following specialist teams:




Catastrophe Management:





A highly analytical role embedded within a commercially focused team. Working within a large team of Catastrophe Modellers across UK and India who have a wide range of technical skills: Meteorology, Hydrology, Structural Engineers, Statisticians, Programmers. A highly collaborative environment enabling you to engage with commercial aspects of the reinsurance placement.



What your day could look like:




Running catastrophe models to quantify the likelihood and severity of natural catastrophes for current and future climate: including hurricanes, floods, earthquake, tornadoes, terrorist attacks.


Interpreting client exposure data and processing it into a format suitable for use in catastrophe models.


Undertaking sensitivity testing to help clients understand impact of data quality, data and modelling assumptions and any planned portfolio change.


Event-Response - provide up-to-date information to clients helping them quantify the impact of ongoing/recent catastrophes e.g. Hurricane Ian.


Collaborating with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions for the (re)insurance market.


Working closely with the model evaluation team to revise and challenge existing catastrophe models to deliver client views of risk that is more relevant to their business.


Contribution to the development of new Impact Forecasting models e.g. freeze models.






Catastrophe Cyber:





You will be part of the Global Cyber Practice group alongside broking and analytics colleagues, with team members based in the UK and North America. It is a friendly and collaborative team made up of technical specialists with backgrounds in Actuarial Science, Catastrophe Modelling and IT Security. Our job is to support our clients to grow and manage their cyber risk insurance portfolios, with our analytical insights.



What your day could look like:




Work with cyber insurance datasets and cyber catastrophe risk models to generate analytical insights for our clients (cyber insurance companies)


Support team efforts to develop and maintain our global data sets and suite of analytics offerings


Evaluate and validate cyber models, including sensitivity testing, model methodology review


Contribute to client relationship management including preparing presentations


Carry out research, work with colleagues and research partners to provide clients insights into latest cyber catastrophe risk


Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of required training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company

Catastrophe Modelling at Aon:



Catastrophe analytics allows insurers and reinsurers, financial institutions, corporations, and public agencies to evaluate and manage natural and human-made catastrophe risk from perils ranging from earthquakes and hurricanes to floods, wildfires and cyber.



Catastrophe analysts come from a wide range of backgrounds in science, economics and engineering and perform risk quantification using a wide range of commercial models as well as internal tools developed by Aon.



Our graduate colleagues will learn how to use an Aonu2019s risk quantification tools, interpret results, and present to internal and external customers. We also offer the opportunity to experience some degree of specialisation by rotating though some of the more focussed teams like cyber, model development or model evaluation where models, methodologies and outputs get tested and peer reviewed.







Your role as a Catastrophe Modelling graduate:



Within our Catastrophe Modelling Graduate programme, we recruit graduates into one of the three following specialist teams:




Catastrophe Management:





A highly analytical role embedded within a commercially focused team. Working within a large team of Catastrophe Modellers across UK and India who have a wide range of technical skills: Meteorology, Hydrology, Structural Engineers, Statisticians, Programmers. A highly collaborative environment enabling you to engage with commercial aspects of the reinsurance placement.



What your day could look like:




Running catastrophe models to quantify the likelihood and severity of natural catastrophes for current and future climate: including hurricanes, floods, earthquake, tornadoes, terrorist attacks.


Interpreting client exposure data and processing it into a format suitable for use in catastrophe models.


Undertaking sensitivity testing to help clients understand impact of data quality, data and modelling assumptions and any planned portfolio change.


Event-Response - provide up-to-date information to clients helping them quantify the impact of ongoing/recent catastrophes e.g. Hurricane Ian.


Collaborating with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions for the (re)insurance market.


Working closely with the model evaluation team to revise and challenge existing catastrophe models to deliver client views of risk that is more relevant to their business.


Contribution to the development of new Impact Forecasting models e.g. freeze models.






Catastrophe Cyber:





You will be part of the Global Cyber Practice group alongside broking and analytics colleagues, with team members based in the UK and North America. It is a friendly and collaborative team made up of technical specialists with backgrounds in Actuarial Science, Catastrophe Modelling and IT Security. Our job is to support our clients to grow and manage their cyber risk insurance portfolios, with our analytical insights.



What your day could look like:




Work with cyber insurance datasets and cyber catastrophe risk models to generate analytical insights for our clients (cyber insurance companies)


Support team efforts to develop and maintain our global data sets and suite of analytics offerings


Evaluate and validate cyber models, including sensitivity testing, model methodology review


Contribute to client relationship management including preparing presentations


Carry out research, work with colleagues and research partners to provide clients insights into latest cyber catastrophe risk


Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of required training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company






Catastrophe Evaluation/Research:





You will be part of a global team with team members based in the UK, India, Singapore, Japan and Australia. It is a friendly and collaborative team made up of technical specialists with backgrounds in Natural Catastrophe Modelling and peril specialisms such as Meteorology, Hydrology, Geology and Structural Engineers.



What your day could look like:




Event-Response - Provide up-to-date information to colleagues and clients on Natural Catastrophes around the world


Evaluating and validating vendor & internally developed Natural Catastrophe Models.


Reviewing model methodologies


Test model sensitivities to input variables


Validate model components using third party data


Identify and educate stakeholders on model strengths and weaknesses


Evaluate climate change components of Natural Catastrophe Models and other climate analytics providers


Analyse claims experience and incorporate into a view of risk.


Build solutions to quantify the climate change influence on Natural Catastrophes


Work with research partners to provide clients insights into latest Natural Catastrophe risk

Strategy Consulting, part of Aonu2019s Strategy and Technology Group (STG), works with (re)insurers, private equity firms, and other entities interested in the (re)insurance sector to deliver advice and strategic insights to senior leaders within the industryu2019s most prestigious companies.







With our singular industry focus, privileged access to Aonu2019s proprietary data and its global network of (re)insurance industry experts, Strategy Consulting offers clients unparalleled access to unique and compelling insights unlike any other consultancy.







As a Strategy Consulting Graduate, youu2019ll become part of our expert team who develop strategic recommendations for our clientsu2019 most important business problems. You will be working on fast-paced, complex projects with a team of 2-4 Strategy Consulting colleagues. Most projects last 1-2 months, enabling Graduates to quickly develop skills and gain deep knowledge across a variety of topics and be exposed to many different colleagues and clients. Learning and development is a focus, with instruction in core consulting skills as well as (re)insurance industry knowledge through tailored training sessions and purposeful work experiences.







What your day will look like:




Working as part of a team that delivers high value strategic projects to insurers, re-insurers, and investors in the insurance industry on wide ranging strategic questions.


Undertaking market and primary research, financial and data analysis that informs the development of recommendations


Supporting the team in developing hypotheses, testing those hypotheses, and developing strategic recommendations


Contributing to the production of high impact client deliverables.










Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS):





Mergers and Acquisitions are complex, time-critical and highly specialised. The AMATS team assists our clients in two main ways during an M&A situation (and sometimes outside M&A):




By providing specialist due diligence across a wide range of deal critical areas, including ESG, human capital, insurance, and cyber. This diligence evaluates exposures (past, current, and future) which may impact a transaction


By placing risk transfer solutions aimed at both de-risking transactions and enhancing investor returns, often removing deal-breaking risks. This involves structuring and placing solutions including Warranty & Indemnity insurance and using insurance capital to transfer contingent risks out of deals, such as tax and litigation





The clients include Financial Sponsors (Private Equity, Infrastructure funds, Real Estate investors) and Corporate businesses, with transaction sizes range from small domestic deals to large international transactions.







Youu2019ll gain exposure to several areas of the M&A advisory and broking business unit u2014 to support your understanding of the M&A Sector and the ways in which Aon supports their clients undergoing such transactions.







What your day will look like:




Supporting the team in the provision of transaction advisory solutions for private equity, infrastructure and corporate clients in support of their M&A processes.


Supporting the team in the broking of transaction liability policies within the insurance market


Co-ordinating internal Aon expertise/resources/ solutions across various practices and geographies, building an internal network


Helping to determine opportunities for cross selling other Aon products, services and solutions


Building and fostering client, insurer and other M&A advisor relationships

Executive Compensation is a specialist area within HR and rewards that focuses on how senior leaders are paid and incentivised. It involves designing competitive pay structuresu2014including base salary, bonuses, long-term incentives, and benefitsu2014that align with company strategy, performance, and governance standards. Working in Exec Comp means influencing how leadership drives business success, balancing market trends, shareholder expectations, and regulatory requirements.







The Data Solutions team works closely with clients to help them make informed strategic decisions by using the insights from our pay benchmarking data. We support clients as they interpret and apply this information to shape their compensation strategies. Alongside this, we seek out opportunities for consulting and advisory projects, particularly within the fast-paced Technology sector. By analysing data and keeping up with industry trends, we help clients tackle challenges and refine their reward approaches. For graduates, joining our team means developing valuable skills, gaining hands-on experience, and contributing to projects that have a real impact on our clients.

As a Strategy Consulting Graduate, youu2019ll become part of our expert team who develop strategic recommendations for our clientsu2019 most important business problems. You will be working on fast-paced, complex projects with a team of 2-4 Strategy Consulting colleagues. Most projects last 1-2 months, enabling Graduates to quickly develop skills and gain deep knowledge across a variety of topics and be exposed to many different colleagues and clients. Learning and development is a focus, with instruction in core consulting skills as well as (re)insurance industry knowledge through tailored training sessions and purposeful work experiences.







What your day will look like:




Working as part of a team that delivers high value strategic projects to insurers, re-insurers, and investors in the insurance industry on wide ranging strategic questions.


Undertaking market and primary research, financial and data analysis that informs the development of recommendations


Supporting the team in developing hypotheses, testing those hypotheses, and developing strategic recommendations


Contributing to the production of high impact client deliverables.










Aon M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS):





Mergers and Acquisitions are complex, time-critical and highly specialised. The AMATS team assists our clients in two main ways during an M&A situation (and sometimes outside M&A):




By providing specialist due diligence across a wide range of deal critical areas, including ESG, human capital, insurance, and cyber. This diligence evaluates exposures (past, current, and future) which may impact a transaction


By placing risk transfer solutions aimed at both de-risking transactions and enhancing investor returns, often removing deal-breaking risks. This involves structuring and placing solutions including Warranty & Indemnity insurance and using insurance capital to transfer contingent risks out of deals, such as tax and litigation





The clients include Financial Sponsors (Private Equity, Infrastructure funds, Real Estate investors) and Corporate businesses, with transaction sizes range from small domestic deals to large international transactions.







Youu2019ll gain exposure to several areas of the M&A advisory and broking business unit u2014 to support your understanding of the M&A Sector and the ways in which Aon supports their clients undergoing such transactions.







What your day will look like:




Supporting the team in the provision of transaction advisory solutions for private equity, infrastructure and corporate clients in support of their M&A processes.


Supporting the team in the broking of transaction liability policies within the insurance market


Co-ordinating internal Aon expertise/resources/ solutions across various practices and geographies, building an internal network


Helping to determine opportunities for cross selling other Aon products, services and solutions


Building and fostering client, insurer and other M&A advisor relationships
