In this pivotal position, you will report to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting and collaborate closely with our Technology colleagues across Europe. Your mission? To ensure that business cases, CAPEX, and OPEX spending are accurately accounted for and consistently reported across our operations. You will take ownership of the reporting for European Technology projects, managing costs and supporting critical business decisions.

This role is essential for the successful delivery of our European Technology Transformation, and you will also partner with our International FP&A team to ensure actual spending aligns with business cases. Get ready to implement and manage processes for technology recharges across European markets, ensuring compliance with tax, reporting, and FP&A requirements.

• Oversee multiple European Technology projects, ensuring accurate accounting and timely month-end processing.
• Manage actual spending classifications (CI/capex/opex) and handle accruals, prepayments, and purchase orders.
• Collaborate with International FP&A to ensure accurate recording of actual spend and assist in variance analysis.
• Define and implement processes for managing recharges across European markets, ensuring alignment with tax and reporting requirements.
• Review third-party contracts for cloud-based software and prepare documentation for accounting treatment assessments.
• Identify areas for improvement to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies, and provide valuable insights.
• Work closely with European Technology leaders to ensure projects are compliant with accounting standards and tax regulations.

We seek a dynamic individual who is ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or a finalist) with strong Excel modeling skills. You should have experience creating user-friendly templates and processes that facilitate meaningful reporting, analysis, and forecasting. Ideally, you will have a background as a Management Accountant, with a solid understanding of core finance accounting.

• Extract, analyse, and validate data from various internal systems and databases for reporting purposes.

NXTGEN are working with a leading manufacturing business based in Peterborough to recruit a fantastic Finance Analyst. This newly created position within the organisation, will give the successful candidate fantastic exposure across the business to a wide range of tasks and responsibilities. As Finance Analyst you will review large and complex data sets, working with business unit leaders to provide them greater insight and understanding of financial performance. You will also have the opportunity to work with other department finance leads on a wide range of projects, understanding how they are tracking vs budget whilst also having the chance to be involved in driving process improvements. It's expected that the Finance Analyst will also work closely with operational teams to review supply chain performance, identifying opportunities for increased productivity through the review of financial information. Given the volume of ad hoc tasks that may also arise within the role, this position is ideally suited to those that are looking to gain exposure to a wide range of financial and analytical tasks.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Provide project finance support across the wider finance community, working on a variety of ad hoc tasks
• Track performance of projects and identify opportunities for increased expenditure or cost saving as required
• Review supply chain finance data and model out data to identify opportunities for process efficiencies
• Support with a range of ESG reports to track progress vs initiative goals
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and the quality of financial data shared across departments
• Support the wider finance team with the delivery of month end accounts and variance analysis reports

The successful candidate will ideally be a part qualified accountant or finalist (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with prior experience working in a Management Accounting or similar Finance Analyst type role. You will be a confident user of Excel and will have experience reviewing large data sets within financial models. Any previous experience gained within a Manufacturing or Production environment would be highly desirable, but not essential. Applicants will need to be team players and happy to take on ad hoc tasks across the wider group, including project based work. You will also be excellent communicators and will be comfortable liaising and presenting to senior stakeholders.
