Duration : 6 months

Overall purpose of the role

As an Apple Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up and managing our fleet of corporate MacBooks through software, ensuring they remain secure and compliant. This is an exciting opportunity as the project is currently in its pilot stage, meaning you will play a pivotal role in getting this initiative off the ground. While the role is highly technical, you will also be the go-to person for various stakeholders, answering questions and translating technical details for non-technical team members.

Key skills

  • Extensive experience using Jamf tools, specifically on both the Protect and Connect sides.

  • Active Jamf certification for managing software on corporate devices.

  • Proven experience managing Apple environments in a mid-to-large organization (must be accustomed to companies of at least 100+ employees).

  • Strong code writing skills and deep technical knowledge of MacBooks.

  • Strong stakeholder management experience, with the ability to comfortably interact with and assist non-technical colleagues.

  • Highly proactive, self-sufficient, and capable of effectively managing your own workload.

Key responsibilities

Diversity

Barclays aims to foster a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident in bringing their whole selves to work, feel included and their talents are nurtured, empowering them to contribute fully to Barclays vision and goals.

Hybrid Working

Barclays is currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Barclays is flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Barclays also has a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

Your Benefits

As a contract employee of Randstad Sourceright, you’ll receive a wide range of financial and personal benefits. There’s enrolment in a pension plan (after 12 weeks on assignment) and holiday pay. You’ll also get 24/7 access to an Employee Assistance Programme, designed to help you deal with any problems that could be affecting your home or work life. Plus, there’s discounts at heaps of high street shops, restaurants and entertainment - from Asda to Zizzi Italian restaurants.

Job Description

Summary & background

You might have heard of this company; has its roots in Cupertino, CA :) — working for the retail arm of this consumer electronics giant taught me a lot about customer service, sales and how to talk about technology without losing people . Met a load of great people along the way.

My place in the company

The Specialist role was very much "does what it says on the tin". Knowledge was a consistent companion — making product recommendations, advising on resolutions to issues that customers might be having.

Due to my background in network infrastructure and low-level software/hardware inter-workings, I was a "go-to" on a team of other highly proficient colleagues.

The day-to-day involved the sale of goods and services, but also general advice and information on product offerings.
