What you'll be doing;

• Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and on all electrical assets across the plant
  
• Fault finding, installing and maintaining electrical systems
  
• Working at height on Control systems for overhead cranes and boiler systems
  
• Assisting during major maintenance periods, shut downs, outages etc. when required to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency
  
• PLC and control wiring fault diagnosis on rotating plant including motor-driven fans, guide vane actuation and pumps
  
• To apply problem solving techniques to diagnose, remedy and report plant defects and proposing improvements to the Electrical Engineer
  
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
  
• To assist with the coaching of apprentices to ensure that they gain the appropriate level of exposure to working practices, and the experience that they need to progress
  

What we're looking for;

• Time served as an Electrical Maintenance Technician who is competent in three-phase and single-phase power, control circuits and equipment fault finding.
  
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is essential with 17th or 18th Edition
  
• Proven experience within Heavy Industrial Engineering
  
• Excellent Health and Safety awareness
  
• Experience within a Waste, Recycling, Power or Process plant Facility is essential
  
• Competent IT user

Manufacturing Technician

The Manufacturing Technician will be engaged in the assembly of Azenta’ Sample Stores, Bio Stores and related sub-assemblies.

Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing work, rework and testing and troubleshooting related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final system assemblies.

Candidates will be electrically biased, with the ability to cut, crimp, assemble and label cables from engineering drawings.

Follow electrical engineering drawings to terminate cables on automated units and fault find using a multi-meter.

What You'll Do

Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing work, rework and testing and troubleshooting, related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final system assemblies.

Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.

Assist in developing methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and/or diagrams to control or modify the manufacturing process.

Performing Continuous Improvement activities to improve productivity.

May prepare technical reports summarising findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.

May provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel, and may lead or supervise activities within a team lead function

What You'll Bring

Take on ad-hoc functions required by the team.

HNC/ or Further education study to City and Guilds level or / Served a recognised apprenticeship.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Mechanical assembly of basic mechanical sub-assemblies

Familiar with Microsoft PC based software (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)

Working within a Health & Safety management system

Understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical fault finding using a multi-meter is a necessity.

We have a fantastic role just in today for an Electrical Technician to join our client in South Ayrshire on a permanent basis. They are a global leader in there market who combine science and creativity to develop some of the most groundbreaking products in there industry.

We are ideally looking for someone with experience of working in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, or other FMCG environment. Ideally with some experience of automation and industrial controls.

You will be joining a well-established team in a day shift-based role on a site that operates Monday - Friday 6am - 6pm with requirements to cover critical call outs on a rota basis (currently 1 in 4 weeks)

In this role you will cover a wide range of responsibilities ranging from routine electrical testing of the installed equipment, routine planned maintenance tasks on industrial processing equipment and supporting services, dealing with unplanned events on equipment, driving reliability improvements, and building the site in house skills to deal with industrial process control systems such as PLC systems, variable speed motor drives and industrial controls.

You will have many responsibilities, some will include:

• Conducting routine planned maintenance tasks, on production equipment and commercial/industrial installations.
• Responding to machine issues and breakdowns and resolving faults in a safe and timely manner
• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure using your own initiative.
• Ability to identify issues of quality and safety and respond accordingly.
• Ability to work in a food and pharmaceutical production environment, to a high standard of product care
• High quality record keeping of maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work in a neat and tidy manner.
• Ability to communicate well with other departments and respond to various customer needs to provide a good standard of service to others.
• Ability and desire to learn to build your own skills and our in house capability.
• Ability and desire to become involved in improvement works such as support for capital projects and site energy saving initiatives.

We are looking for you to have the following:

• Electrical maintenance qualifications or equivalent
• A desire and interest in industrial automation and controls
• Ability to plan and manage own tasks against changing production demands
• Ability to understand production priorities and respond to tasks accordingly
• Computer literate on Word, Excel and ideally SAP PM or other CMMS
• Have good fault-finding skills on electrical installations, the ability to install and modify equipment as required, to work to a very high standard of safety and the ability to learn
• Drive a well-funded improvement agenda. You will need to be able to work with diverse teams across engineering, technical, quality and production roles.

As part of our continued support to our client in the space industry we are looking for an Electrical Technician with experience with Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT).

The Electrical technician will be working alongside subject matter experts in a dynamic and growth focused Space business. The role will require candidates to support in the preparation of electrical components which meet high quality standards in line with production procedures and processes.

Working as part of the AIT team on spacecraft critical components to produce components which conform to the quality requirements, delivered to schedule IAW the production plan. Although not essential specific experience in RF and optical cable routing and assembly, as well as clean room experience are highly sought after this role.

The roles will be based at our customer's facility in Stevenage, we are able to offer these roles on a permanent or contract (Inside IR35) basis. The salary/rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The role will require working on a shift basis (early and late) for which a premium will be paid.

The Electrical AIT Engineer will perform, but is not limited to the following type of activities centred on provision of satellite/satellite payloads:

• Ability to read and work to shop floor documents such as routings, drawings, work instructions and BOMs

• Work to the required process standard as dictated by the relevant area skills matrix
