The EMEA Operations department supports MUFGu2019s core products and services including Banking (commercial/retail based payments, loans, derivatives, trade finance) and Securities (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equity etc). The role of Operations is to manage the interaction between Operations and MUFGu2019s internal clients (Front Office, Trading Desks etc) and has close ties with other support areas such as , Legal, Compliance, Risk etc



**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**



The Fixed Income and Equity Trade Processing team provide support to MUFG EMEA Sales and Trading groups, facilitating accurate and timely Settlement and providing pre trade support. The team acts as an important link between the Front Office, the market, customers and various back office areas and is key to ensuring transactions are correctly matched and risk accessed.



In addition the role demands high level external client focus in order to efficiently satisfy their diverse range of requirements and provide a service which out performs our immediate competitors.



The role demands flexibility between tasks, attention to detail and the ability to perform a diverse multitude of pre execution tasks to support our internal and external client needs and requires strong Fixed Income and Equity experience and a clear understanding of front to back transaction trade flows and the associated controls (i.e. reconciliations).



**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**



**Daily BAU Processing Responsibilities:**



**Transaction Monitoring & Settlement:**

Ensure accurate and timely monitoring of front-to-back transaction flows and settlement across a wide range of Fixed Income and Equity products, including (but not limited to) Corporates, Government Bonds, Repos, SBL, SPV Settlements, Triparty, Cash Equities, and Convertibles.



**Triparty Settlements Oversight:**

Support the end-to-end processing, instruction, and risk management of Triparty settlements, ensuring alignment with internal controls and business requirements. Drive optimisation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across all Triparty-related activities.



**Reconciliation & Break Resolution:**

Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and unmatched trades across all supported products and markets, ensuring all reconciliation activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.



**Inbox Management & Stakeholder Communication:**

Monitor and manage team mailboxes daily, ensuring all queries are thoroughly investigated and resolved promptly, delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.



**Outsourced Team Oversight:**

Oversee and support the performance, communication, and control standards of outsourced partners. Ensure that outsourced operations align with internal expectations, timelines, and business objectives. Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.



**Market Borrow Monitoring:**

Oversee the processing, reporting, and resolution of all market borrow positions, including the management of mandatory recalls.



**Pair-Off & Partial Settlements:**

Identify and execute pair-off or partial settlement opportunities with counterparties, including the preparation and processing of payment/receipt instructions.



**Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation:**

Continuously review and enhance operational processes and procedures in collaboration with the line manager. Identify and remediate any control gaps or inefficiencies within the framework.



**Control & Compliance:**

Ensure all activities within the Transaction Processing team are executed in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures and internal control standards.



**Subject Matter Expertise & Support:**

Act as a product specialist, providing subject matter expertise and day-to-day support across all BAU activities.



**Cross-Training & Knowledge Sharing:**

Fully engage in the departmentu2019s cross-training initiatives, supporting knowledge transfer and team resilience.



**Leadership & Team Culture:**

Serve as a role model within the team, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Mentor new team members by designing and delivering structured training plans.



**Strategic Input & Collaboration:**

Participate actively in senior staff meetings, contributing insights and recommendations on staffing, new business initiatives, and ongoing BAU matters that impact the Transaction Processing function and the wider firm

**Work Experience:**


Strong Product knowledge and F2B Process understanding of Investment Banking flows

The Markets and Securities pillar is part of the Operations Office for EMEA that supports MUFGu2019s core products and services including Banking (commercial/retail based payments, loans, derivatives, trade finance) and Securities (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equity etc.).



The Asset Servicing Department is responsible for servicing both Primary and Secondary Markets for both MUFG Bank London and MUFG Securities EMEA on a dual hatted basis.



The Corporate Actions and Income Processing function covers Secondary market activity which includes the capturing and processing of all Dividends, Coupon Distributions and Corporate Actions on proprietary positions. The team is split across London and Mumbai with the main oversight responsibilities residing in London.



**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**



This role sits within the Corporate Actions and Income Processing team where the successful candidate will assist the team in being responsible for the processing of Corporate Actions and Income events across global markets on Equities, Debt Securities as well as Derivatives positions.



**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**


Responsible for ensuring that all BAU processes are performed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner incurring zero losses.
Daily oversight of the outsourced Income processing ensuring all daily checks and controls are maintained.
Building and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with the Front Office in order to ensure internal service levels are being met.
Responsible for the processing of mandatory and voluntary Corporate Actions (incl Optional Dividends), as well as covering the Dividends and Coupons processes when required.
Daily cash reconciliation ensuring transparent break reporting and resolution. Chasing counterparties to ensure outstanding cash items are kept to a minimum.
Dealing with counterparties to confirm voluntary event instructions in a timely manner.
Understanding WHT implications for each market and ensuring expected entitlements are in line with DTT rates.
Working closely with other internal departments, including Front Office, for the management of specific trades with sensitive clients.
Liaising with the Settlements team and Derivatives Trade Support to ensure all internal static is correctly updated in line with the events and clean end to end processing.
Identifying trades that are subject to auto-compensation and updating internal flows accordingly.
Strict adherence to the CASS rules regarding client money segregation.
Identification of process improvements, both tactical and strategic, and ensuring the improvements are communicated and adopted across the team.
Ensuring procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
Cross training on other team functions such as Coupons and Dividends processing.
Prompt escalation to management of any potential issues as and when identified.
Assisting in Audit, SOX and other regulatory reviews of the department, and the closing of any open action items.

The Markets and Securities pillar is part of the Operations Office for EMEA that supports MUFGu2019s core products and services including Banking (commercial/retail based payments, loans, derivatives, trade finance) and Securities (Derivatives, FX, Fixed Income, Equity etc.).



The Asset Servicing Department is responsible for servicing both Primary and Secondary Markets for both MUFG Bank London and MUFG Securities EMEA on a dual hatted basis.



The Corporate Actions and Income Processing function covers Secondary market activity which includes the capturing and processing of all Dividends, Coupon Distributions and Corporate Actions on proprietary positions. The team is split across London and Mumbai with the main oversight responsibilities residing in London.



**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**



This role sits within the Corporate Actions and Income Processing team where the successful candidate will assist the team in being responsible for the processing of Corporate Actions and Income events across global markets on Equities, Debt Securities as well as Derivatives positions.



**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**


Responsible for ensuring that all BAU processes are performed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner incurring zero losses.
Daily oversight of the outsourced Income processing ensuring all daily checks and controls are maintained.
Building and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with the Front Office in order to ensure internal service levels are being met.
Responsible for the processing of mandatory and voluntary Corporate Actions (incl Optional Dividends), as well as covering the Dividends and Coupons processes when required.
Daily cash reconciliation ensuring transparent break reporting and resolution. Chasing counterparties to ensure outstanding cash items are kept to a minimum.
Dealing with counterparties to confirm voluntary event instructions in a timely manner.
Understanding WHT implications for each market and ensuring expected entitlements are in line with DTT rates.
Working closely with other internal departments, including Front Office, for the management of specific trades with sensitive clients.
Liaising with the Settlements team and Derivatives Trade Support to ensure all internal static is correctly updated in line with the events and clean end to end processing.
Identifying trades that are subject to auto-compensation and updating internal flows accordingly.
Strict adherence to the CASS rules regarding client money segregation.
Identification of process improvements, both tactical and strategic, and ensuring the improvements are communicated and adopted across the team.
Ensuring procedures are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
Cross training on other team functions such as Coupons and Dividends processing.
Prompt escalation to management of any potential issues as and when identified.
Assisting in Audit, SOX and other regulatory reviews of the department, and the closing of any open action items.
Providing periodical MIS to management.
Ad-hoc project work as and when required, including UAT and regression testing.



**WORK EXPERIENCE**



Essential:


3+ yearsu2019 experience in a Corporate Actions and Income Processing related role, preferably within the IB segment of Financial Services.
Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the front to back processing flows across mandatory and voluntary events.
Experience of automating Corporate Actions and Income processes would be beneficial.



**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**



**Functional / Technical Competencies:**



Essential:


Strong MS Excel skill (experience using Vlookup, Pivot Tables and Graphs advantageous);
Strong understanding of Corporate Event impact on Derivatives positions and associated processing.



Preferred:


Knowledge of Swift, IntelliMatch and Broadridge Gloss systems desirable but not essential.
Presentation skills using Microsoft Apps (Excel, Powerpoint, PBI)

The Loan Participation team is responsible for managing MUFGu2019s operational obligations as lender across a portfolio of Syndicated and Bilateral Loans, and for managing events on each Facility in accordance with Facility Agreements, internal rules and Market Practice.



**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**



Loan Participations are part of the Transaction Processing Unit, within the Operations Division for EMEA. Transaction Processing provides efficient and accurate processing, ranging from single-touch, single entry to multi-touch, complex transaction processing.



The Loan Participation team is responsible for managing MUFGu2019s operational obligations as lender across a portfolio of Syndicated and Bilateral Loans, and for managing events on each Facility in accordance with Facility Agreements, internal rules and Market Practice.



The team must deal with scheduled and unscheduled events, issues and queries, these must be dealt with quickly and efficiently, and these must be administered in accordance with the relevant Facility Agreement and procedure.



The Loan Participations Assistant Vice President will monitor and control daily work flows including assigning tasks to the Associates to ensure completion of daily obligations.



The Assistant Vice President will ensure that the booking of Loans, Fees, Bank income, Guarantees, Commitments, Risk and Sub Participation is completed in accordance with Head Office Rules, Regulations, Contracts/Agency Agreements and Compliance policy, including supporting the Loan Participation associates with their daily tasks and acting as a first point of escalation.



**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**


Provide support and guidance to junior team members to facilitate the completion of daily obligations and new deal capture in accordance with head office rules and regulation.
Responsible for the input and/or accurate verification of junior team memberu2019s work.
Provide assistance, as requested, to line management in the control of daily work flows to ensure timely completion of daily obligations.
Provide first line escalation to junior members of the team for issue resolution and using knowledge, solve routine issue and queries, escalating where necessary for decision making.
Assist line management in the creation, review and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure accuracy.
Provide general support to facilitate the implementation of projects as and when necessary
Communicate and negotiate with a variety of Stakeholders, including Front Office, Lenders and Borrowers in order to administer events on a portfolio of loans.
Act as first point of contact for issue resolution and escalation. Using specialised knowledge to solve routine issues and answer queries. Escalating any issues to the Associate Director as required.
Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
Operate as product specialist providing subject matter expertise where required

Previous experience of working in a manual operations environment - Essential
Experience of working in a fast-moving environment under time pressure whilst retaining strong attention to detail. - Essential
