My client is an internationally known multi disciplinary construction consultancy. Due to the team having two members of staff retire, my client is looking to add to their successful Project Management team with the appointment of an Associate Director to their Edinburgh office.
Responsibilities of the Associate Director
- Providing key technical and cost/commercial advice to clients across a variety of sectors
- General line management responsibilities are effectively discharged and the project management team is led effectively
- Managing key client accounts and winning new business through organic growth and referral opportunities including cross selling opportunities
- Full compliance with all policies, legislation, regulations and procedures
- Reporting regularly to key stakeholders including internal teams, appointed technical partners and the client
- To take ownership for the successful delivery of projects; giving leadership and direction to the team, managing design teams, effectively communicating with all parties, identify and manage the risks, planning and progress monitoring, development of appropriate project controls
- Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations
- Contribute to the overall and operational management
- Monitoring and controlling changes / variations following approval by the client
- Provide effective line management to Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Graduates
Requirements of the Associate Director
- Minimum of 10 years PQE
- Experience as a Senior Project Manager as a minimum
- Full member of an appropriate professional institution (CIOB,APM,RICS)
- Commercial experience is essential along with a proven track record of winning and retaining new clients
- Pre and Post Contract knowledge
- Track record of delivering or advising on complex construction and development works

The Utilities Project Execution Manger will be responsible for driving the day-to-day activities of a group of Projects Managers dispersed globally and supporting multiple instrument-based monitoring solutions used in the electrical Transmission and Distribution sector. + Excellent organizational and leadership skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Good understanding of IT and communication protocols, comfortable around instrumentation and using basic programming tools where necessary.

- Experience of building and leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on infrastructure projects and programmes in differing environments, ideally multiple sectors.
- Experience of consultancy and/or client-side project management.
- Familiarity with public sector organisations, non-departmental or arm's length bodies relevant to infrastructure.
- Familiarity with sustainability and application to projects / programmes.

Preferrable qualifications:
- Degree level qualification in a management, construction or infrastructure related subject, or equivalent experience.

The Associate Director within Drug Development will oversee high-level plans and progress for asset development, from pre-clinical stages to commercial launch. The Senior Manager/Associate Director Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects within STA, WuXi's API and Drug Product development and manufacturing division. Leads the orderly progression of projects from the proposal stage through project completion by interacting with the client, technical team and business development team. The incumbent will also participate in business development activities such as visiting existing or new clients and promoting STA's services in conferences/trade shows.

+ Prior experience in project management or managing external research collaborations, with PMP certification desired.
+ Candidate should possess strong and effective project management, problem-solving solving and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record working cross-functionally across a wide variety of technical, business, and operational areas.
+ Demonstrates good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and small molecule drug development.
+ Minimum of 5 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in CMC process development and/or GMP manufacturing.
+ Working knowledge and understanding of current regulations and industry trends for small molecule, manufacturing, and testing. Oligonucleotide and Solid State Peptide experience a plus.
+ Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) is preferred, but not required.
+ Must have working knowledge of MS Office products, especially MS Project.
