AV Technician
The role may at times require the set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as meetings, presentations, and news conferences.
- To liaison with meeting coordinator or venue director to establish workflow of events.
- Create and install custom lighting systems.
- Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.
- Diagnose and correct media system problems.
- Coordinate audio feeds with LED display images.
- Clean audio and video equipment and store properly.
- Ensure the safe storage and integrity of data.
- Maintain inventory of equipment.
Requirements
- Operate and maintain audio visual equipment including display devices, projectors, televisions, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems, microphones, and speakers.
- Provide excellent equipment services to meet client expectations.
- Perform equipment storage and transportation activities in safe and secure manner.
- Perform inventory management of equipment, wirings, and accessories to avoid any shortages.
- Setup and operate audio visual equipment for trainings, presentations, meetings, and conferences.
- Perform equipment inspections, Identify potential equipment malfunctions
- Assemble and disassemble audi0 equipment as needed.
- Testing of pre-installed equipment to ensure they are in good and safe working conditions.
- Provide technical assistance to other Technicians when required.
- Maintain the work room and storeroom clean, safe, and organized.

About the Role
At Firefly, our technicians bring live events to life. As a Senior AV Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality productions across the UK, working in a close-knit team that values creativity, reliability, and professionalism.
You'll lead small and medium-scale events, support across all AV disciplines, and mentor junior staff while specialising in your technical area (video, lighting, or audio). We especially welcome candidates with strong video or lighting expertise.
Our projects range from conferences and gala dinners to awards shows and hybrid meetings. While you won't be expected to manage events entirely, you may be asked to take on site leadership and client liaison duties. A salary supplement is available if you'd like to take on more comprehensive project responsibilities, such as quoting and planning.
