We have both full-time and part-time positions available to suit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
  • Follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSP).
  • You will be working alongside other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists and CAMHS to create a comprehensive support network.
  • Be confident with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Be a fantastic role model and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Hard working and flexible to meet the needs of the children.
  • Be comfortable and confident supporting children with complex SEN and medical needs.
  • Communicate with the children by using PECS, sign language and Makaton.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting adults and/or children with Special Educational Needs is essential (Education, residential, hospital, care homes etc).
  • Personal experience supporting a family member with SEN/PMLD is also valued.
  • Level 2 Team Teach is essential, although this training can be offered by veritas.
  • Safeguarding training is essential, although this training can be offered by veritas.
  • GCSE English and Maths is essential.
  • Good knowledge of SEN is essential.
  • A moving and handling qualification is preferred.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
