Our client, one of the UK's leading Building Services Commissioning Consultancies, would like to employ a Junior/Trainee Electrical Testerto join their thriving team.
You will be 17 edition / NVQ Level 3 / AM2cenginer possibly with a 2391 / 2394/5 testing and inspection certificate or an interest in doing that.
You will be part of a team providing bespoke testing and inspection services and carrying out electrical condition surveys to a range of clients across London.
Your role will include:
- Testing electrical circuits.
- Condition reports - carrying out condition reports of electrical services.
- Preparing reports for clients.
This role would suit a good junior client-facing electrician with some interest in testing / validation.
Our client is particularly looking for someone with enthusiasm and a good work ethic. This is an excellent opportunity to further your career within a growing business.
The role does include some out of hours work at eveings and weekends.

Areas of Responsibility:
As the Control Engineer, you will:
- Technically lead industry control solutions and support development of new colleagues.
- Production / checking of functional design specifications
- Develop and design control systems solutions.
- Responsible for overseeing and delivering customer factory and site testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects.
- Providing technical input for the pre-sale's activities.
- Responsible for technical issues/support on allocated projects
- Attend internal and external design reviews providing technical input.
What skills and experience you will bring to the role:
- Important: The candidate will be required to obtain UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.
- Candidates with five years residency will be preferred.
- experience within control / automation background.
- A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
- Siemens RTU configuration and testing using SICAM Toolbox II and SICAM Device Manager.
- HMI configuration and testing, preferably with experience in Zenon EE V10.0 or SAT 250 SCALA.
- Proficiency with protocol simulators for I/O testing.
- Configuration of managed Ethernet switches, such as Ruggedcom.
Desired Experience
- Minimum five years' experience in a similar role involving developing medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.
- Good understanding of the Circuit Diagrams / Wiring Diagrams and General Arrangement drawings on control and protection systems.
- Desire to technically lead on allocated projects and develop engineers for the expanding team.

You will work closely with development teams to validate security configurations and functionality, identifying vulnerabilities and performance issues before they affect the production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct manual testing of firewall and hotspot gateway software to ensure reliability and performance.
- Document all test cases, results, and observations using Excel or related software tools.
- Identify, log, and track bugs and defects , ensuring they are properly reported and addressed by developers.
- Perform various testing methodologies, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and unit testing .
- Collaborate with developers and network engineers to troubleshoot and validate fixes.

We are now on the lookout for a fully qualified Electrician and testing engineer who holds up to date 18th edition and inspection and testing qualifications to carry out electrical inspection and testing as well as supervising others and verifying certificates as the Qualified Supervisor.
This role involves:
• Site supervision of other electricians including regular updates and tool box talks
• Work alongside electrical/solar manager assisting where required
• Health & Safety responsibilities when on site.
• Be able to prepare RAMS, risk assessments and Method statements when necessary.
• Inspection and testing on site of mainly domestic and some light commercial environments such as pubs and hotels.
• Helping out on small domestic electrical works when required.
• Liaise with NICEIC to ensure compliance where necessary.
• Quote remedial works following tests
• Must be able to work unsupervised liaising directly with colleagues and customers.
• Work is mainly within 1 hour of our office, however, the successful candidate must be willing to travel and stay over on occasion, expenses will be paid.
• Willing to be flexible to meet the business requirements.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Must have at least 10 years electrical experience
• C&G 236 parts 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent
• 18th Edition Regs
• C&G 2391 or equivalent testing qualification
