About the Role

We are seeking four experienced DeltaV Automation Engineers to join a major life sciences manufacturing project in Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with 3–4 years’ commissioning and testing experience to contribute to a high-profile automation programme within a regulated environment.

You’ll be part of a dynamic project team supporting DeltaV commissioning, I/O testing, FAT/SAT execution, and system validation at a world-class manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support DeltaV commissioning, configuration, and testing activities.
  • Execute I/O checks, loop testing, and system validation to GMP standards.
  • Collaborate with CQV, process, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Participate in FAT/SAT, start-up, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety, quality, and documentation standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–4 years’ experience working on Emerson DeltaV systems within life sciences, biotech, or pharma.

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Process Automation Engineer to optimize and streamline their production lines. This is a fully remote role, offering the unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects from your home office, contributing to efficiency and innovation within the manufacturing sector. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.

In this role, you will analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for automation and improvement. You will design and develop automation solutions, including specifying hardware components, selecting appropriate control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA), and developing software logic. Your responsibilities will extend to commissioning new automated systems, conducting thorough testing, and troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure optimal performance and reliability. You will also be involved in continuous improvement initiatives, seeking ways to further enhance automation efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Key tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to understand operational needs and integrate automation solutions seamlessly. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of automation systems, including electrical schematics, programming code, and operational manuals. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of automation technologies, programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text), and industrial communication protocols. Familiarity with robotics, motion control, and industrial networking is highly advantageous.

We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, coupled with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, a methodical approach to diagnostics, and excellent communication abilities are required. This remote position demands self-discipline, effective time management, and the ability to work collaboratively with teams across different locations.
