THE ROLE

• Assemble and wire automation equipment and control panels to precise specifications.
li>Interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, drawings, and BOMs.
• Conduct functional testing and fault-finding on completed builds.
• Support on-site installation and commissioning when needed.
• Maintain safety, quality, and documentation standards.
• Provide feedback to improve build efficiency and reliability.

YOU

• Electronic Assembler -  Proven experience in automation equipment assembly or industrial electrical/mechanical systems.
li>Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification (e.g., NVQ, ONC, HNC) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site installations.

We are looking to appoint an Automation Technician to work in Electrical and Automation Department.
The role is very varied and requires a good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel specification/design, PLC programming, touchscreens, and controls along with an understanding of vision and SCADA systems. Experience of the pharma industry is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications.
• Programming PLC, touchscreen and safety configurable relay systems.
• Configuring remote I/O, servo motor and inverter drives
• Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines such as vision systems etc.
• Fault finding electrical control systems, PLC, and hardwired systems
• Commissioning, support, and service work at customers' sites

The skills and knowledge:

• Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification
