The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, engine management, transmission, and ABS/airbag systems. You should be proficient in using diagnostic software and hardware, interpreting fault codes, and performing necessary repairs, including component replacement, system recalibration, and software updates. Beyond technical proficiency, you will also be expected to provide clear and concise explanations of diagnostic findings and proposed repairs to service advisors and, at times, directly to customers. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, access ongoing training and development, and utilize advanced diagnostic tools in a modern workshop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and technical data to identify root causes of issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform complex repairs and component replacements with precision and efficiency.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and scan tools.
- Update vehicle software and recalibrate electronic control modules (ECMs).
- Communicate technical findings clearly and concisely to service advisors and customers.
- Stay current with the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic techniques.
- Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proven experience as a Senior Automotive Technician with a strong focus on diagnostics.

- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
