A global leader within the Aerospace MRO is urgently recruiting for Avionics Repair Technicians on a permanent basis. As a Repair Technician, your main role will be to repair various cockpit instruments such as aircraft Communications, Navigation, Radar, Radio Audio units, Recorders and Instruments.
The electronics side of role will involve fault finding and repairing to component level. This role requires working with technologies ranging from analogue electronics to complex microprocessor electronics and RF circuits.
Mechanically, you will be stripping down the units using hand tools such as spanners screw drivers, allen keys. You will be working with very small parts & components and therefore attention to detail is essential for this role.
Main Duties:
- Dis-assembling the units mechanically
- Repair or replace damaged components
- Carry out repair work on circuit boards, replace damaged electrical components
- Must have good soldering skills as you will be repairing damaged circuit boards
- Re-assembling the units once the repair work has been completed
- You will be working from work instructions
Working Hours - 08:00- 16:00hrs Monday to Thursday and 08:00-15:30hrs on Friday.

Are you a Stress Analyst with F&DT experience coupled with the ability to analyse the F&DT requirements of Aircraft Structural Repairs. If so we have a long-term Contract role that may suit your skills and experience.
Working as part of a dynamic and reactive Airbus team you will be responsible for the Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) assessment of metallic wing structures. You will ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capability guidelines. Your primary role will be to provide Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged aircraft structures, whilst working with Design and Static Stress engineers, within challenging timeframes.
Daily tasks:
Perform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance assessment of repairs using Airbus approved methods and tools.
Create, compile and co-ordinate justification reports and associated engineering documentation required for repair approval.
Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales.
Work in conjunction with the Repair Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimum repairs.
About You
An Engineer with an Aerospace Engineering background, with experience of how airframe repairs are developed and justified.
Able to manage multiple priorities to time, cost and quality in a challenging and fast paced environment.
This is a Hybrid role, you will be required to work on-site at Airbus Filton, 60% as a minimum, the Standard hours are 35 per week working 4.5 days per week between 7:00am - 7:00pm as agreed with the department management.
Essential Skills
Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
Experience of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods.
Knowledge and experience of using Airbus Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis tools and methods (including ISAMI and Mathcad).
Experience of compiling Fatigue and Damage Tolerance justification reports to Airbus standards and ways of working.
Preferred Skills but not essential
Be conversant with technical requirements for repair design.
Working knowledge of Airbus structures.
Delegated signature for structural analysis (or significant development towards).
