The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer who is an intuitive, self-driven team player with strong communication skills, a commitment to learning, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across different locations while upholding high ethical and safety standards.
As part of our Group Engineering Team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of large-scale projects along with all Compliance Requirements associated with our mechanical, pressure systems & large rotating plant assets across the Portfolio.
To be based at Damhead Creek (preferred), Rye House or Shoreham but with a valid driving licence and prepared to work at multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to a Mechanical Engineer Lead you will assist in maintenance activities to keep the plant running round the clock to deliver for our customers.
- You will be part of a team ensuring our assets comply with regulatory, industry and company best practices & standards.
- Your input will be essential to ensure the company business objectives are met whilst maintaining & ensuring safe, reliant and profitable generation.
- As part of our engineering team large scale maintenance projects, upgrades with flexibility and reliability driven focus will be part of your objectives
- Offering support and technical advice to our site maintenance teams will also prove essential with good communication being key
What we're looking for
- Experience in Large Rotating Plant and/or HRSG Pressure System in large Industrial processes (Power Generation desirable)
- Experience working on long term multimillion pound projects - having led some stages of a project would be desirable.
- Educated to minimum HNC standard, with degree desired
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. health & safety, environment and employment law
- Knowledge of budgets and contract management
- Understanding of engineering standards and legislation
- Solid understanding of work planning and the work control process
- Good working knowledge of the Generation Safety Rules and business IT systems (including MS Office, Maximo and Cintellate).
