We are recruiting Production Operators for our successful and expanding manufacturing client based in Thornbury, South Glos. Working as part of a small but friendly team and reporting into the Production Manager, you will be working as part of a small team in a fast paced production environment.
Duties will involve
- Loading materials onto machines & running them
- Taking finished goods off machine and quality checking them
- Boxing, packaging and labelling goods
- Loading onto pallets and preparing for despatch
This would suit someone who has previous production or warehouse experience and has a good eye for detail and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. In return you will be joining a small but well established and friendly team, who offer long term prospects and development for the successful candidate.

What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out inspections across electrical, electronic, optical and mechanical parts, from goods-in to final assembly li>Using a range of inspection tools such as verniers, micrometers and gauges to ensure components meet tight tolerances
- Correctly quarantining and recording any defective or rejected products
- Maintaining accurate inspection records and assisting with defect investigations and reports
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and making recommendations for process enhancements
- Calibrating and maintaining inspection equipment as required
- Working to strict confidentiality standards in line with industry requirements
What we’re looking for:
- < i>Previous experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment working to tight tolerances
- Strong knowledge of inspection methods, including the ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
- Confident in using standard inspection equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges) – CMM experience desirable < i>Good understanding of electro-mechanical equipment, both theory and operation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

About the Role:
As a key member of the Quality Assurance Team, you'll support the QA Supervisor to ensure all products and processes meet company and customer standards. You'll carry out inspections, support investigations, and help drive quality improvements across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out First Off, Stage/Batch, and Final Release Inspections to IPC standards.
- Monitor and maintain quality levels in line with internal and external standards.
- Ensure all deviations have appropriate sign-off and documentation.
- Input data related to Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Returns.
- Maintain clean and safe working conditions in accordance with 6S and FOD.
- Support 8D root cause analysis and investigations with the wider team.
- Promote continuous improvement across QA and manufacturing departments.
- Monitor ESD practices and ensure tooling/equipment remains serviceable.
- Work to AS9100 and NADCAP standards.
- Liaise with QA Engineering and Production teams on compliance issues.

Requirements:
- Experience in a similar Quality Control or QA Technician role.
- Knowledge of IPC standards and aerospace/defence industry compliance.
- Understanding of AS9100 and NADCAP (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
