Rystad Energy is seeking ambitious and motivated analysts to contribute to the development of battery related products. We are constantly improving and expanding our product portfolio, and these new roles will form an integral piece of our ongoing development. The foundation of our products is a high volume of factual data combined with sophisticated in-house data management systems and forecasting tools, which model the physical and market-based mechanisms governing global energy systems.
In this round, we are looking for strong research analyst candidates to join us in the teams that develop our Battery Solutions.
Battery Solution
Our batteries solution is designed to give a deep understanding of the battery materials supply chain, and the batteries application market.
The Battery Solution covers the entire battery value chain, including the global market for battery and raw material products, from both a supply and demand perspective. Key focus areas include battery material supply, end-use applications of battery in industry and transport, as well as battery technologies and market trends.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date battery and material supply, demand, and chemistry tables and models.
- Author regular, insightful commentary on current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the battery and material markets.
- Collaborate closely with commercial team and support on product demo and market insight meetings.
- Contribute in-depth analysis and updates to our regular market reports.
- Collaborate closely with other supply chain and clean tech teams to ensure seamless integration of market insights.
- Utilize data analytics and research methodologies to forecast market developments and provide actionable insights.
- Attend industry conferences, workshops, and seminars to stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and market trends.
- Contribute to management consulting projects within the energy transition area, when relevant.
Job Requirements:
An individual with the highest levels of energy, determination and analytical ability is a must, combined with excellent communication, presentation skills. You will have fared successfully in academics, participated in extra-curricular and will have these qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 years of exposure in the battery related industry.
- Demonstrated market research skills, including insights into regional supply and demand balance, cost composition.
- A understanding of battery technology and material chemistry.
- Proficient modelling ability with experience in at least one analysis tool (mention specific tool if you have a preference).
- Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills in English, second language is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Hours: Monday - Friday (8-hour shifts)
Salary: upto 35,000 (DOE) + Company Van, Equipment & Benefits

Duties:
- Maintain and repair battery systems on customer sites.
- Carry out battery topping, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Liaise with customers and provide excellent service and communication.
- Submit job sheets and reports to head office on a weekly basis.
- Safely prepare equipment for transportation.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Work closely with the service department to plan and prioritise jobs.
- Support shift cover for sickness and holiday when required.
The ideal candidate must:
- Have strong electrical knowledge and experience in battery repair (charger repair desirable).
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence (company van provided).
- Be confident, professional, and well-organised.
- Have excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Be able to work independently and manage a busy workload.
- Be diligent, conscientious, and capable of working under pressure.
- Have experience in an MHE background (desirable but not essential).

The Design Engineer for Battery Systems will perform a pivotal role in electrification projects within Williams Grand Prix Technologies. This role will require significant experience in the design of battery systems with a particular focus on inventive solutions packaging cells into modules, modules into packs and the electronics and power distribution components. Experience in a variety of markets and the technical solutions typically employed in those industries will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:

Creation of concepts and detailed design of components and structures required to create battery solutions from cell to vehicle or industrial installation.

Focus on structurally efficient, cost-effective designs with a high level of attention to mass, HV safety and cost trade-off.

Generation of calculations used to support structural and functional analysis of optimised designs.

Act as primary interface to suppliers and component manufacturers in order to resolve manufacturing or delivery issues.

Maintain high level of concise and clear communication, working with colleagues or suppliers in order to optimise design integration.

Manage the formal release process in line with company processes.

Creation of DVPs and a test and validation strategy to ensure designed components meet the system requirements. A specific focus on the requirements for certification (REG.100, UN38.3 as well as relevant marine and aerospace standards) is of particular importance.

Support the programme team with project and technical reviews so that project milestones are successfully progressed.

Represent WGPT in customer and supplier interactions.

About You:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Automotive engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrable experience within the field of High Voltage battery systems in a number of different markets, including examples of concept to delivery of battery components .

Expertise in a variety of areas including packaging of various cell formats, integration of electronics components and flexible PCBs as well as the design of structures to house high mass battery modules and power electronics.

Proven experience with High Voltage and creepage and clearance requirements through all parts of the design lifecycle.

Experience working in high-performance industries; such as motorsports, automotive, aerospace, or other dynamic environments.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

Hands-on experience with HV Systems whilst verifying self designed products and components.

Familiarity with different concepts associated with battery module design.

Knowledge of safety and certification standards associated with a number of industries.

Expert CAD skills, preferably Siemens NX.

We’re seeking an Engineering Manager - Powertrain Products to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Head of Electric Powertrain you will be focused on the creation, management and development of a high performing engineering team, delivering vehicle programmes within a matrix organisation. The engineering team will include Project Engineers and Technical Specialists that together will deliver high voltage powertrain systems into high volume automotive production programmes, alongside R&D and development projects. The team require multiple roles to cover technical specialism in Drive Units, Power Electronics and Battery Systems
This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our offices near Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you’ll do
- Ownership of the technical capability of a particular function (Drive Units, Battery Systems or Power Electronics) of the engineering department. Empowered to develop this capability and recruit inline with headcount plans and financial budgets.
- Management of external Engineering Service Providers and contract staff including alignment of resource requirements and signoff of time bookings and work packages.
- Responsible for ensuring tools and processes are suitable and best fit for the engineering function, whilst ensuring consistency across the full engineering department.
- Technical specialist in the appropriate functional discipline. Able to support team members, manage escalations and make technical decisions in order to technically support the function. Skillsets include Project Engineering of Battery, Power Electronics, Electric Drive Units and Thermal systems.
- Working alongside delivery managers to allocate engineers to different programmes (vehicle and R&D) in order to deliver on the company goals.
- Champion the DFMEA process to ensure that the proposed approach provides suitable coverage for the technologies and risks associated with the programme. Advocate the fault management system to ensure that an appropriate approach is taken to resolving any outstanding faults.
Who you are
- Significant experience of Electric Powertrains (Battery to Driveshaft) within an automotive engineering environment, degree qualified in a related engineering discipline.
- Proven track record of building, maintaining and motivating high performing engineering teams.
- Finance experience with respect to managing CAPEX, recruitment and operational costs within an engineering organisation.
- Demonstrable understanding of electric powertrain architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, HV harnessing, electrical safety systems, serviceability and control strategies.
- Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, quality planning, PPAP etc) and full product lifecycle activities.
- A comprehensive understanding of the V-Cycle and its application in an automotive environment.
