About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Supervisor to lead operations in our cutting-edge biomechanics and neuromuscular function laboratories. You will play a vital role in supporting teaching and research, managing specialist equipment, ensuring health and safety compliance, and mentoring technical colleagues.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role where your expertise will directly impact the learning experience of students and the success of research projects. You’ll work closely with academics, students, and fellow technicians in a supportive and inclusive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating technical operations across teaching and research labs.
- Managing and maintaining specialist equipment including EMG, dynamometers, force plates, and 3D motion capture systems.
- Supporting laboratory-based teaching and supervising students.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining documentation.
- Leading and mentoring technical staff, contributing to their development.
- Collaborating on policy development and supporting outreach events.
