We're currently recruiting a Quality Assurance Technician to support our client's expanding technical department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily compliance checks across the site
- Inspect and assess products at all stages of production
- Identify and report quality issues to the line manager
- Examine raw materials for consistency and integrity
- Monitor shelf-life testing, record data, and report any failures
- Complete and review production paperwork
- Maintain retention samples
- Calibrate probes as required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role
- Background in food manufacturing
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for defects
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Good level of written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Flexible and adaptable approach
- Basic IT proficiency
- Confidence and a willingness to learn

The Role
QA Technicians are the key ingredient to our recipe for success at Geary’s. You’re responsible for monitoring our processes against site procedures through regular auditing and supporting interdepartmental teams, providing clear and accurate advice. In maintaining our due diligence, you ensure our bread is not only delicious but also meets food safety, product integrity and quality requirements. Your main responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining accurate, audit-ready, site and product specific documentation to guide our teams in meeting required standards li>Reviewing all production paperwork, confirming information in real time, that it is completed accurately and in full
- Identifying any areas of improvement or additional training needs related to paperwork completion li>Conducting legal compliance verification checks on site wide equipment (such as temperature probes, scales and fridges) against a defined schedule, escalating any out of spec results and assisting in investigation and corrective action implementation
- Conducting GMP/Glass and Hard Plastic and Fabrication audits to ensure hygiene levels are maintained, working with department leads to assess compliance and improve standards where necessary
- Reporting audit findings within the Internal Audit Procedure
- Completing PQE sessions to confirm product conforms to food safety, quality and customer requirements
- Conducting sampling and swabbing against site risk assessed schedules; leading investigations when out of spec result is received to confirm cause and corrective and preventative measures as outlined in non-conformance procedure
- Acting as subject matter expert for CCP controls, weight controls (in line with Weights and Measures Act 1985) and food safety and quality standards, delivering training and support to colleagues on all areas where necessary

Are you a quality-driven leader with a passion for food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement? Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of technical standards, audit readiness, and customer confidence across their site.
As the Quality Assurance Manager you will:
- Lead the Quality Assurance agenda, ensuring the site operates to BRC, legislative and customer codes of practice, driving a culture of "right first time."
- Manage audits with confidence, taking the lead during customer, retailer, and third-party inspections, and ensuring all internal audit programmes (hygiene, glass, GMP) are delivered to schedule.
- Oversee microbiology, allergen management, swabbing, ATP, water testing and traceability systems, maintaining robust controls and full compliance.
