Role Purpose:
To play a pivotal role in identifying and developing business opportunities with new or existing clients & intermediaries from the bridging/buy to let space. The candidate will be responsible for generating their own leads and visiting clients to promote MFS products with a view to generating significant business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Origination & Funding
- Engage in sales activity to identify new introducers & borrowers in line with the MFS product.
- Engage in strategic activity to increase broker conversion through knowledge sharing & training.
- Vet and onboard new brokers, borrowers & introducers to the MFS panel.
- Proactively source & originate property loans in line with policy & appetite.
- Assess deals in line with credit policy & supply required information to underwriting.
- Assess the broader client propensity for additional or future borrowing requirements.
- Strategic diary management to ensure productivity is optimised at all times.
- Log all sales activity in line with company policy, including updating the company CRM.
- Regular industry & competitor reviews to enhance the MFS USP.
- Support BDM’s or CEO where requested.
- Support decisions on loan values, rates, broader loan terms and loan exits.
- Achieve minimum annual lending target.
- Achieve year on year lending growth with a spirit of continuous improvement.
Communication & Relationships
- Ongoing point of contact for queries arising from index of introducers & borrowers.
- Meetings with prospective introducers to educate them on the MFS range.
- Attendance at industry events to support brand awareness, origination, and relationships.
- Communicate the loan funding process with external stakeholders.
- Presentations to senior management regarding industry news, information, or opportunities.
- Delivery of MI to line management once requested.
- Regular attendance at key MFS meetings as requested by management.
- All activity to uphold the principles of MFS at all times as a company ambassador.
Role Requirements:
- Experience within business development for a property finance lender or broker.
- A demonstrable track record of achieving lending/sales targets within a lending environment.
- Excellent relationship and origination skills with a strong customer focus.
- Competent in terms of initial deal assessments, assessing loans vs current criteria & appetite.
- Excellent time management and ability to manage own diary of appointments.
- Excellent pipeline management and progression skills.
