Do you have at least 5 years commercial insurance experience, with a proven track record in developing new business in commercial broking? Looking to join a smaller broker who offer a genuinely relaxed working environment with a warm and supportive atmosphere? If so we have just the opportunity for you!
Based in Rawtenstall, our client are a broker that have gone from strength to strength since their inception in the early 00's and currently stand as a £15 million GWP Broker. they have garnered a reputation for delivering a tailored client first approach to commercial insurance, and are now looking to add a new Commercial New Business Executive to their team. They are keen to speak to you if you have a strong background in commercial insurance sales and can demonstrate you can deliver results. With their support you will grow a book of business from their prospect bank as well as networking and sourcing and converting your own leads.
They have an extremely impressive staff retention rate here, which speaks volumes on the working environment they offer. Currently the business has 10 staff with plans to add several more over the coming months. They also do quarterly work socials too.
As above, you will need at least 5 years commercial broking sales experience to be considered and need decent technical knowledge across multiple product lines.
Salary on offer is £50-70k + Car allowance or Company Car, with an uncapped bonus scheme, 25 days holiday + bank holidays (plus 1 well being day or your birthday off). They also offer a good company pension, life insurance, free motor breakdown cover, salary sacrifice and healthcare options and ongoing paid support for professional qualifications.
Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (with a 4pm finish on a Friday). This role is office based, however they do offer flexibility when needed to work from home on an ad hoc as needed basis.

Looking for a Product Owner / Agile Business Analyst with 5-10 years of experience across a blend of both business and technical skills, together with a thorough understanding of Lloyd’s market underwriting processes. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring their Workbench and other Products deliver maximum business value.
The Role - Purpose
The Product Owner’s initial remit will be focused around the Workbench application, although the remit is expected to widen is scope for this to become wider as the Systems Landscape matures.
The Product Owner will ensure that the application meets the objective of providing an integrated, flexible and scalable environment to support the work of the Underwriting teams, and then subsequently of other business functions.
Key interfaces
- Working closely with the Underwriting – and other functional – user teams.
- Collaboration with team whilst the programme remains on-going – Project/Programme Manager and multiple Business Analysts
- Primary point of day-to-day contact with the external vendor and implementation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the internal expert and primary point of contact for all product-related system inquiries.
- Working with Underwriting stakeholders to capture, document and challenge functional and technical requirements, ensuring that the application supports emerging TOM requirements.
- Understanding and co-ordinating enhancement priorities across the underwriting teams.
- Supporting users by assessing cause of any functional issues arising, determining remediation options and scheduling bug fix releases with platform support team.
- Managing the relationship with the platform vendor, aligning with their development roadmap to ensure that the business takes full value from the application’s on-going evolution.
- Regular engagement with the third-party vendor teams responsible for the Product development.
- Regular engagement with the vendor teams responsible for the other applications integrated with Product.
- Assisting functional team users in testing and then adopting the application.
- Form plan for adopting the Vendor roadmap, ensuring seamless integration and business benefit.
- Define and track KPIs for product usage/performance, monitoring effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage permissions and access to the Product, ensuring appropriate security controls.
- Champion the adoption of each Product and its associated tools across the business.
- Run regular Product Working Groups to engage stakeholders and drive alignment.

- Experience in conducting client meetings and presentations

The Role
As a Commercial Insurance Broker, you will be maintaining an existing portfolio of clients as well as developing new clients and your responsibilities will include:
- Working with a portfolio of new and existing clients, in close collaboration with the team of Senior Brokers and Directors, to provide tailored insurance solutions.
- Providing comprehensive customer support and advice to meet the insurance needs of your clients.

About You
- A minimum of 3 years experience in the insurance industry as either a Commercial Account Handler, Commercial Broker, or Commercial Account Manager - essential!
- Experience and confidence of working with SME and Mid-Market clients.
- In depth knowledge of multiple commercial insurance products and services across all lines.
- Working knowledge of Acturis
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills both in person and over the phone
- CII qualification or working towards would be advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong PC skills
