Amazon is seeking a motivated candidate to create analyses and mechanisms that provide actionable insights regarding customer behavior and sales performance. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor to Global Mile sales leaders across the US & EMEA. Their insights and recommendations will help sales leaders understand and bridge performance, as well as influence strategy, including new product's go-to-market, customer prioritization, etc.
About Global Mile: Amazon is committed to supporting businesses in becoming successful Selling Partners. Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) provides sellers with fulfillment services to store products in Amazon's fulfillment centers. Amazon will pick, pack, ship, and provide customer service to enable FBA sellers to scale their business and reach more customers.
With Amazon's advanced fulfillment networks, this enables "You sell it, we ship it." Often, Selling Partners may procure inventory from overseas origins, such as China, South-East Asia, requiring them to independently navigate the complexity of international freight forwarding, shipping, and customs clearance. The Global Mile team solves this Selling Partner pain-point by offering Amazon Global Logistics solutions, with a full suite of international shipping, customs clearance and storage solutions.
As a Business Analyst, you will serve as the subject matter expert on presenting data in an informative and actionable way, facilitating productive, cross-functional dialogue. Your detailed analysis will inform decisions on investments, opportunities, and performance. You will collaborate with our centralized Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team to leverage existing data and build access to new data needed to inform business decisions. You will build analytical models, size opportunities, prioritize for ROI, implement techniques to process large data sets, apply statistical testing methods, address quantitative problems, build dashboards that enable leaders to better understand their business data, assess functional business performance, and develop targeted, scalable action plans. As an experienced data expert, you will be responsible for supporting and advising team peers who lead functional strategies. You will be responsible for designing and implementing tangible insights, business metrics, measurement systems that guide operations, projects, and programs roadmaps. You will have an opportunity to publish findings, updates, and data-driven recommendations to Senior Leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Build data visualization reports and tools for self-service data consumption.
- Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of structured and unstructured data to help automate and optimize key processes.
- Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality metrics, and insights.
- Proactively identify areas of opportunity for in-depth investigations and future program development.
- Serve as the primary data reporting and analysis expert supporting a team of 30+ individuals, following an intake and prioritization process to balance fast-turnaround business needs with regular processes and longer-term strategic projects.

The US EMEA Sales Planning team was created in late 2022 to support the growth of Global Mile sales and marketing teams. Our objective is to establish and iterate on strategic and tactical planning processes to help achieve business goals, maximize efficiency and ROI.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering , analytics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical or quantitative field
- Experience in financial/business analysis
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Experience creating complex SQL queries joining multiple datasets, ETL DW concepts
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, eCommere, Retail
- Ability to apply statistical techniques and facilitate market research (i.e. hypothesis testing, control groups, benchmarking studies)
- Experience working in web analytics - e.g. funnel progression, visitor behavior, conversion analysis, marketing campaign optimization, click-through rates
- Experience owning creation and regular circulation of business reports
- High level of competence & skill set in variety of business analysis, e.g. trend analysis, segmentation analysis, cost-benefit analysis, scenario analysis, CLTV analysis, financial analysis, survey analysis, ROI analysis, opportunity sizing, conjoint analysis, sales forecasting, etc.
- Experience in project management and business process improvement

    Key Requirements

    With several exciting projects in the pipeline, including new Order Management and Financial systems, a freight company in Southampton has an opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst to join their Business Systems Analysis and Support Team.


    No two days are the same when your work covers Business Analysis, Application Support and Project Support for internal and external customers!

    Based in their Southampton office this Business Systems Analyst is paying 35,000 - 40,000 per annum with benefits including, 25 days holiday, Pension, Sick Pay, health care, fully onsite, onsite parking etc.


    As Business Systems Analyst you will:

    • Provide training and support to business application users.
    • Maintain documentation for user training and testing.
    • Deliver system analysis and specification documentation.
    • Manage change processes.
    • Conduct testing and provide support for new and existing application releases.
    • Take ownership of business applications.
    • Provide support for company projects, ensuring successful implementation.
    • Manage customer and internal EDI/API changes and resolve associated issues.
    • Set up and manage customer and system integrations.
    • Create and maintain documentation required for audit purposes.
    • Perform logical troubleshooting and implement actions to resolve issues.

    The successful Business Systems Analyst will come from either a similar Systems Analyst, Software Support or Application Support role, with any of the following being a real bonus.

    • Experience of the Software Development Lifecycle
    • Intermodal and Heavy Haul, Commercial, and/or Financial systems and business processes.
    • Customer and system integrations, EDI messaging, and integration methods.
    • Business systems analysis,
    • Familiarity with development lifecycles and analysis techniques.
