CNC Offline Programmer - CAD/CAM - HyperMill
As a CNC Offline Programmer, you'll be at the heart of this busy precision engineering companies production process, translating design concepts into reality. Your responsibilities will include:
- CNC Programming : Develop precise 3 and 5 axis CNC programs using Hypermill software.
- Technical Documentation : Create comprehensive supporting documentation from 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Complex Part Programming : Tackle intricate high-precision components for CNC mills and lathes.
- Post Processor Resolution : Address any post-processing issues to ensure flawless execution.
- Shop Floor Collaboration : Work closely with our shop floor team to prove and optimise programs.
- Manufacturing Methods : Plan efficient manufacturing methods, including jig and fixture design.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Estimating Support : Leverage your expertise to assist with cutting time estimates.
- Technical Assistance : Provide shop floor support as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
We're seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Experience : Proven experience in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software (Hypermill).
- Precision Engineering : Familiarity with complex part programming for CNC mills and lathes.

An established precision engineering company, specialising in complex components for motorsport, automotive, and marine applications, is looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join their programming team. Working on small-batch, high-quality components, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced, high-performance sector.
The Role
You will be responsible for creating machining strategies using CAM software to manufacture composite components to customer specifications. This includes programming for 3- and 5-axis machines, working with materials such as Rohacell and Carbon Fibre.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate safe, efficient machining strategies using CAM software based on customer CAD data
- Program 3- and 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture high-precision composite parts
- Interpret technical drawings and tolerance specifications
- Work closely with Workshop and Quality teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Skills & Experience Required
- Proficient in CAM programming, ideally with Hypermill other CAM packages will be considered.
- Experience programming for 3- and 5-axis CNC machining centres
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerance requirements, and quality standards
- Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Interest in motorsport and composite manufacturing (desirable)
