MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CAD Technician & Project Support Engineer to a leading operator of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants across the UK. This is a permanent role within the Project Support Team, supporting operational and project delivery across their nationwide AD network.
As the AutoCAD & Project Support Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and updating site drawings including P&IDs, ELDs, and layouts
- Producing drawings for project proposals and improvement works
- Undertaking routine site visits to ensure drawings reflect live installations
- Supporting change management procedures and document control
- Assisting with installation and commissioning of improvement projects
- Promoting safe systems of work and contributing to a positive safety culture
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable)
- Pre-degree level qualification ideally HND
- Experience producing mechanical/electrical/process engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail with document control and revision management
- Ability to liaise with engineers, site managers, and wider project teams
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide

You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and site teams to develop detailed construction drawings and ensure design intent is accurately reflected on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and amend 2D drawings using AutoCAD to support project planning and construction.
- Interpret architectural and engineering sketches and convert them into technical drawings.
- Maintain and update drawing registers and documentation.
- Work closely with the design and project management teams to resolve design issues.
- Ensure all drawings are produced in line with company standards and client requirements.

Shifts: Monday to Friday – 8am to 4pm / 9am to 5pm
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- You must have 5 Years plus CAD Design experience
- Must have experience with NX 3D CAD as will need to hit the ground running
- Be able to follow/adhere to company's Health and Safety and Environmental Policy
- Be able to create new drawings, 2D or 3D
- Must be conversant with Revit to design, document, visualise, and deliver engineering, and Facility projects
- Support Product and Tooling modifications
- Conversant with 2D Autocad, NX (formerly Unigraphics) and Revit (Desirable) to design, document, visualize engineering, and Facility projects
- Reverse Engineering of OEM spares to produce CAD drawings
- Management of the registers, folders, and associated documentation
- Scheduling and prioritising of all CAD office activities in line with production activities
- Issue and control of drawings, technical documents, and specifications internally and externally
- Communications with internal and external customers and contractors
- Provide support and design solutions for MT & Project Engineers
- Working and compliant with BS888 standards
- Support the Site Engineering Reliability Programme
- Documentation compliant with Quality Management Systems ISO 9001
- Write and review department Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instruction’s
- Training for apprentices and other Technical Employees on the CAD Platform
- Transition of drawings onto the new Windchill Platform.

The role:
- Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

- Maintain drawing registers and revision history.
