Key Responsibilities:

Job description

We're looking for someone who can lead the delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns for HMRC-across low-cost/no-cost and paid channels. In this role, you'll also take ownership of a holistic, connected always-on search strategy (covering both SEO and Paid Search) that supports all our campaigns and ensures people can easily access the information they need, whenever they need it.

You'll be working closely with internal digital teams and external agencies to make sure everything is optimised, evaluated, and continuously improved.

There are two core elements to this role, including:

Integrated Campaign Leadership:
  • Planning: Lead and co-ordinate key marketing paid for campaigns from end-to-end, working with Communications Business Partners to understand business objectives, and seeking input from specialists across the Communications Directorate and agencies to effectively plan marketing campaign.
  • Delivery: Oversee the delivery of integrated campaigns across paid for channels, supported with low cost/ no cost. Using data to optimise the campaign to drive greater effectiveness.
  • Evaluation: Leading post campaign evaluation against business objectives, calculating ROI and providing key learnings.
  • Leadership: Leading a team (at least two direct reports) a group of agencies and virtual project team to plan, deliver and evaluate campaigns.

Connected Search Expertise:
  • Develop holistic always on connected strategy for Search that goes beyond the traditional search engines and considers places where customers search for data (including blogs, YouTube, etc.)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in search strategies, encompassing both Paid Search and SEO, to optimise how HMRC customers discover and access information and support resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement in search performance through data analysis, testing, and implementation of best practices.

The Woodland Trust is Looking for a Lead Campaigns Manager - Regular Giving Recruitment who will lead the delivery of the Trust’s regular giving recruitment campaign activity, with a focus on growing membership through multi-channel campaigns.
The Role
Manage end-to-end campaign implementation across offline and digital platforms, working closely with internal teams and external agencies.
Oversee high-volume activity such as inserts and door drops, ensuring accurate data selections, creative sign-off, and timely delivery.
Monitor and evaluate campaign performance and budgets (£1M+), using insight to inform optimisation and future planning.
Integrating regular giving recruitment campaigns into the wider trust marketing and comms plan as part of the annual planning process
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and media partners to drive effective, on-brand campaign delivery.
Contribute to strategic planning and innovation, presenting proposals, financial models, and performance updates to influence decision-making.
Collaborate with insight and digital teams to test and refine recruitment approaches, ensuring sustainable long-term supporter growth.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity within the team.
This role includes a mix of working from home and at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Visits to Grantham would be required no more than once or twice a month on average.
The Candidate
Proven expertise in end-to-end campaign delivery, with a strong track record in supporter acquisition across digital, print, DRTV, and out-of-home channels.
Experienced team leader and collaborator, confident in managing people and guiding cross-functional project teams - and working with suppliers and agencies.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in performance evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
Comfortable working in a test-and-learn environment, with the ability to lead on innovation and optimise channel performance.
Digitally fluent, with hands-on experience in PPC, Google Grants, social media advertising, analytics, and web optimisation tools.
Experience of budget management and control, confident in financial tracking and reporting on expenditure.
