A beautiful care home / village for the elderly is looking for a Deputy Matron to join its team. This is a unique and private home for the elderly, with excellent facilities within vast grounds, including a full nursing & care team, Allied Health, activities team, chapel, F&B outlets, etc. Regularly visited by VIPs and royalty, as well as outstanding CQC ratings. This post supports the Registered Manager of the care services both within the Infirmary and the Domiciliary care service.
SALARY ETC:
- 5k to 8k per annum. li>Excellent benefits package, including 25-days annual leave, with annual increases up to 30-days, excellent pension scheme, onsite gym, discount scheme, healthcare, etc.
- Predominantly Monday to Friday, but would need flexibility to come in at weekends or late nights to meet those who work nights on occasions.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have full right to work in the UK (unable to offer sponsorship)
- Registered Nurse (current PIN number with NMC)
- Experience in elderly care/ geriatric nursing, ideally within residential care homes for the elderly.
- Evidence of further learning and continuing professional development relating to health and social care
- Thorough understanding of older care, having experience and a sound understanding of the benefits the right nursing care can bring to Pensioners lives.
- In depth understanding of fundamentals of elderly care, top risks and implications,
- Knowledge and understanding of the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs),
- In depth understanding and experience managing clinical quality and regulatory compliance
- Supervisory and team leading skills & Effective communication skills
- Ability to performance manage or engage in the disciplinary process
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- Provide visible leadership to all clinical teams,
- Support Ward Manager and Clinical Leads managing staffing levels effectively and safely,
- Actively engage with Clinical Governance, Training and Quality Assurance teams for effective clinical compliance management across all clinical areas,
- Investigate clinical incidents and share lessons learned across all clinical services,
- Support Clinical and Training Leads to deliver effective and timely clinical supervisions to staff,
- Support Senior Team and, when required, carry out personal performance improvement plans followed up by timely progress monitoring,
- Manage and participate in the Duty Matron's on-call rota,
- Actively participate in pre-arranged Family Days and build rapport with the whole retirement village and Pensioners' families.
- Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders and volunteers,
- Apply solution focused approach to problem solving,
- Actively participate in internal and external inspections and strive to maintain outstanding care provisions across all clinical areas.
- Provide effective line management to the Ward Manager, Almoner and Domiciliary Care Team.
- Assure responsibility for the clinical services in the Registered Manager's absence and in support of the Nominated Individual.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established Home Manager who can provide stability, lead a large and loyal staff team, and maintain the home’s excellent reputation for quality care and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for a large residential care home with multiple units.
- Ensure consistently high standards of person-centred care and dementia support.
